Christ, our ministries are many, and multiplying. There is truly something here for everyone.

Church Membership Means Membership Means Membership Means Membership Means Something, Something, Something, Something, as such, all of our
members are expected to intentionally seek opportunities to use their God given gifts and talents for His glory, towards
the growth of His kingdom, and for the good of this local body of
believers. Members are expected to normally attend
regularly scheduled services, to strive toward spiritual growth
and maturity, to give financially as they are able, and to exhibit
Christian conduct and character both inside and outside of the
church. If you are interested in becoming a member of
Farmersville First Baptist Church, please schedule a time to meet with one of the pastors
to discuss the matter more fully.
Keep ALL our kids and grandchildren in your prayers as they start
BACK TO SCHOOL... Dear Heavenly Father, watch over all our
kids as they start the 2012-13 school year. Open their eyes, ears and hearts to be
obedient to the job that they have before them, which is to learn. Help them to be true witnesses and flickering Christian lights for you! Keep them safe, healthy
and happy as they go on their way throughout each day. Be with all our
teachers as they prepare for the awesome job of teaching that they have before
them. Give them the strength, support, patience and wisdom that they need to
perform their jobs!

FOOD PANTRY SCHEDULE
The Food Pantry is opened for business on August 14th and
August 28th this month.
Be in prayer for those who need it and for those who share their
love for others by serving others and working at the Food Pantry. See Cheryl Mikesell if you would like to be a part of this ministry or would like to
donate towards it. NEWSLETTER INFORMATION
The newsletter comes out every month now here at Farmersville
First Baptist Church and we want to fill it with all the good news and
information going on at our church. It does not happen without all of you. If you are a ministry leader,
your news is important to the rest of us. Keep us informed about what you are doing and what you have planned in the future. Update us
when your projects are finished so we can hear about the goals you
reached and the people you helped. Give us dates and times of plans you have in the future so that
we can get the word out. All information should be given to
Cheri Thacker at lease one week to ten days prior to the first of the month. The easiest way is
through email to [email protected]
Those of you that want to receive the newsletter, you can do so in
several different ways: *make sure Cheri has your email address and it
will be sent directly to your email address each month, *let Cheri
know that you would like a printed copy each month, *or find extra copies on the information table each month. Please see Cheri
Thacker if you have new ideas or any questions about the
newsletter.
FAMILY WORSHIP
Family Worship will be held on August 19th during the
11:00am service.
Pass the word and come worship God with our whole
church family. See Stephanie Vorhis for more
information.

Are you sitting on the fence and don’t know where you belong?? There are so many ways that you can help here at F.F.B.C. Maybe
you are an excellent cook and love hospitality? Maybe you love kids and would like to do something in that area? Maybe you love to sing,
love computer work or have another talent that no one knows
about?? Don’t be afraid to plug in. We ALWAYS need help!

*Tubing - Someone asked about this. Morgan's DOES

to keep up with the rest of the group. If you're still interested feel free to call Morgan's for more details
* Chad said he highly recommends the fiberglass canoes because they glide much easier through shallow waters.
On a fun note, we ARE allowed to bring squirt guns, frisbees, balls, etc, so we may develop a group game to
play along the way!
If you are planning to attend, please sign up in the church foyer or email me by Wednesday, August 15th. I will
need to know how many canoes or kayaks you will need so that Morgan's is ready for us when we arrive. In order
to get our tax exempt qualification and discount as a church, we will be making 1 payment to Morgan's for
everybody when we arrive on August 18th. Feel free to pay me ahead of time for your canoes/kayaks or turn in your money the day of the event, whichever is easier for
you!
See Elise McElwain for more details.

NURSERY HELP NEEDED!!NURSERY HELP NEEDED!!NURSERY HELP NEEDED!!NURSERY HELP NEEDED!!
With so many new babies here or on the way, toddlers wobbling around and twos leading the way…we need to make sure our Nursery is ready and able to care for
all of their needs. Parents feel free to share any concerns you may find with
the Nursery. If you are a church member and feel you could lend a hand in our Nursery during
the morning worship service, evening service or on Wednesdays, please see
Stephanie Vorhis ASAP. I am looking for people willing to commit to only one
service per month. In addition to needing faithful workers, we also need to do our best to make the nursery a welcoming, safe, clean place for parents to feel comfortable leaving
their little ones. Please try to avoid…walking through the nursery as a hallway (less shoes equal less dirt on the carpet) and letting your older children
(over the age of 3) plan in or on the items in the nursery. It WE all try harder to
keep the nursery a Safe Babies Only Zone it is a much easier task to accomplish.
Thank you in advance for your help with this matter!

BOOK BAGS OF LOVE
I wish to send out a great BIG thank you to all the people who donated items to support the annual Book Bags of
Love Ministry here at our church. It was overwhelming to see all the children show their love during VBS by filling up our SKY barrels. Because of your love and support we will be able to help several children. Several completely filled book bags have already gone out to children right here in our area that could not afford their school supplies and several filled pencil boxes also went out to some that
already had book bags but needed some of the collected supplies. At the present time, we are STILL in need of
actual book bags. We have lots of school supplies, but not enough book bags to fill them with. If each family would go and purchase at least one or maybe two...we would have this need met immediately. Pray about what God would have you to do for this worthwhile ministry. Let's all help
our children start out the school year completely prepared.
Keep this ministry in your prayers as we continue to serve children that are in need of our help. There is a collection bin near the information table to take your collections for
the children that are in need. The following is a list of needed supplies:
*Book Bags
*Two Pocket Folders *Pencils
*Black and Red Pens *Highlighters
*Scissors *Crayons
*Colored Pencils *Washable Markers--8 colors
*1* School Binders *Kleenex
*Paper Towels *Rulers
*Pencil Boxes and Bags *Wide Ruled Notebook Paper
*Wide Ruled Spiral Notebooks
We will continue to collect these items all through the 2011-12 year. We have been told by teachers right here in our
own church that their is a need all year long.
Keep all of our children and grandchildren in your daily prayers as they face the many challenges that they go
through in school. You are all appreciated and I know God will bless our many efforts to help these children.

W.IN.G.S. (Women In God’s Service)
Our next meeting will be on Monday,
August 13th at 6:00PM.
ALL ladies are invited and encouraged to come join us.
Delores Brooks is providing dinner.
Ladies if you are feeling like you wish you knew people better or want to get more involvedGthen come on out and give a
W.IN.G.S. meeting a chance. I can sincerely say that there is no place I would rather be once a month, then fellowshipping with this wonderful group of Christian sisters. We
laugh, we cry, we lift each other up, we plan and we pray for each other and our church. We have gained some new faces and are
thrilled about the input they give. Come join us. We’d love to make you part of our sister circle. Also, our girls meet at the same time under the guidance of Melissa
Wells and Stephanie Payne. They also feel the sisterhood and work on mission projects.
See Cheri Thacker for information on these monthly meetings.

WOW! So hard to believe that the 2012 SKY VBS is over but oh what a week we had learning that
Everything IS Possible with God--TRUST GOD!!!" With the help of Pat, Orville, Scout, Apollo and
Rockette we learned that No Matter Who You Are, No Matter How You Feel, No Matter What People Do, No Matter What Happens---TRUST GOD!! THANK
YOU GOD! We had an average attendance all week long of 204, collected 2 full barrels of school supplies
to be used in our Book Bags of Love Ministry and collected approximately $697.51 (that’s a lot of
mosquito nets) in the offering. We had several that we have heard accepted Jesus as their personal
Savior due to this amazing week at VBS! Like I said---oh what a week! Makes all that hard work---so worth
it! All during the year, it seems like all the different age groups are busy doing their own things, but during VBS week...it is amazing to see the whole church comes together as a whole...including our
amazing youth.
The VBS week could not of happened without ALL of YOU!
First of all....a great BIG thank you to Miss Linda Vorhis (our VBS Director) that does an awesome
job each and every year! I heard from many parents during the week that FFBC's VBS is the BEST one around! Thank you also to Miss Stephanie Vorhis who also does an amazing job with all our little ones in the preschool department. You are both
an inspiration to all of us!

GIRLS IN ACTION... NEEDS A LEADER!!GIRLS IN ACTION... NEEDS A LEADER!!GIRLS IN ACTION... NEEDS A LEADER!!GIRLS IN ACTION... NEEDS A LEADER!!
In recent months we lost our Girls In Action Leaders! Melissa Wells and Stephanie Payne have stepped
down and we are now looking for someone that feels led by God to maybe take that place.
In the years past, Girls in Action always met at the
same time that W.IN.G.S. did and was a place for girls age 5 on up to meet to have “girl time” and at the
same time be on mission to serve the Lord.
If you have a passion to work with the young girls and would like to devote a couple hours each month
to keeping Girls In Action alive, please let Cheri Thacker know.

REFINED BY THE MASTERREFINED BY THE MASTERREFINED BY THE MASTERREFINED BY THE MASTER
There was a group of women in a Bible Study on the book of Malachi. As they were studying
chapter three, they came across verse three, which says: "He will sit as a refiner and
purifier of silver. "This verse puzzled the women and they wondered what this
statement meant about the character and nature of God.
One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week,
this woman called up a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work.
She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in
refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames
were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot then she thought again about
the verse, that "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not
only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be
destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then
she asked the silversmith, how do you know when the silver is fully refined? He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy - when I
see my image in it."
If today you are feeling the heat oIf today you are feeling the heat oIf today you are feeling the heat oIf today you are feeling the heat of the fire, f the fire, f the fire, f the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and remember that God has His eye on you and remember that God has His eye on you and remember that God has His eye on you and

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:
Before you speak, ask yourself, is it kind, is it
necessary, is it true, does it improve on the
silence?
