INTRODUCTION TIME: 15MINSShow the young people four of the short videos from www.youngscotlaunchpad.org on ‘Planning Ahead’, ‘Budgeting’, ‘Student’ and ‘Housing’. After watching the videos ask young people to suggest things they need to consider when thinking about independent living.
SESSION CONTENT
ACTIVITY ONE TIME: 30MINSAsk the young people to work with a partner and complete the worksheet on budgeting and independent living
EVALUATION TIME: 10MINS
Ask one pair to feedback on what they decided to spend their budget on and the reasons for their choices. Also ask them whether they found the exercise easy or difficult. Use this as a starting point to compare what other young people have chosen and what they have learnt from this session.
