Goal: Your goal is to create a travel brochureRole:You role is that ofa professional travel agentsAudience: Your clients are a family of 4: 2 adults and 2 childrenSituation: Students will chose a vacation destination for the fictional familyProduct Performance and Purpose: You will write an informative paper and create apersuasive brochure that details excursions, transportation, dining and accommodations, photos, and
price rates from online sources such as Priceline.com and Hotwire.com in a well planned and
organized manner. Your clients should have a 3-day detailed itinerary within their brochure featuring
activities relative to all family membersStandards and Criteria for Success:Your project will consist of two parts, a research paper and an actual brochure constructed from post
board .The 1 page research paper will be constructed in class through the Writing Process,Prewrite, Compose, Evaluate, Revise, Edit and Publish to be typed. Students will present their
assignments to the class.

Situation: Students will construct feature stories, media reviews, current event, and factual newsstories to express grasp of unit skills. Students will also use photos and other relevant print
multimedia to visually enhance overall magazine appearance.
Product Performance and Purpose: Assignment: In groups of 4, design and create a magazine tha
offers relevant entertainment, news and facts for your classmates. Students will construct and
publish magazines utilizing several online and print sources of information.

Unit Launch: Pretest to determine student skill level and prior knowledge of content.
Utilize Podcast for delivery of content instruction/introduction of curriculum goals.
