“Most Americans do not know what their
strengths are. When you ask them, they
look at you with a blank stare, or they
respond in terms of subject knowledge,
which is the wrong answer!”
Peter Drucker
What are your Strengths?

Assessment Experience
When you took the assessment, you had just 20
seconds to respond to each item.
Why so quick?
Gallup’s research found that instinctual, top of mind
responses are more revealing than those you’d give
if you sat around and debated each question.
The instrument is attempting to identify your most
intense natural responses, which are less likely
to change over time.

StrengthsFinders measures talents
not strengths
So, why is it called Strengthsfinder
and not Talentfinder?
Here’s why
The goal: To build a true strength, a
talent is just one ingredient in the
formula….

Executing
Leaders with dominant strength in the Executing
domain know how to make things happen.
When you need someone to implement a
solution, these are the people who will work
tirelessly to get it done.
Leaders with a strength to execute have the
ability to “catch” an idea and make it a reality.
![Page 19: Intro to Strengths June 2016 v 2](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022052705/58f099531a28ab9a3d8b4635/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Influencing
Those who lead by Influencing help their
team reach a much broader audience.
People with strength in this domain are
always selling the team’s ideas inside and
outside the organization.
When you need someone to take charge,
speak up and make sure your group is heard,
look to someone with the strength to
influence.”
![Page 20: Intro to Strengths June 2016 v 2](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022052705/58f099531a28ab9a3d8b4635/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
Relationship Building
Those who lead through Relationship Building
are the essential glue that holds a team together.
Without these strengths on a team, in many cases, the group is simply a composite of individuals.
In contrast, leaders with exceptional Relationship Building strengths have the unique ability to create groups and organizations that are much greater than the sum of their parts.
![Page 21: Intro to Strengths June 2016 v 2](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022052705/58f099531a28ab9a3d8b4635/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Strategic Thinking
Leaders with great Strategic Thinking strengths
are the ones who keep us all focused on what
could be.
They are constantly absorbing and analyzing
information and helping the team make better
decisions.
People with strength in Strategic Thinking
continually stretch our thinking for the future.
![Page 22: Intro to Strengths June 2016 v 2](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022052705/58f099531a28ab9a3d8b4635/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)

Group Discussion:
Why is it important …
For you to know your strengths?
Even more important- to know others
strengths?
What might be some potential
ramifications if we don’t know our own
or others strengths ? To you?
For patients?
![Page 24: Intro to Strengths June 2016 v 2](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022052705/58f099531a28ab9a3d8b4635/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
Why should we care about this
as leaders?…(Big “L” or Little “l”)
If we are doing what we are good at/ love to
do…
Joining with what our fellow colleagues are
good at/ love to do
= being a team
How might teaming with our Strengths
impact / enhance our patient experiences?
![Page 25: Intro to Strengths June 2016 v 2](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022052705/58f099531a28ab9a3d8b4635/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
Caution: Can you over use a
Strength?
