Introduction of Successful Youth (Booklet) Conference.
Free & Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA) held a conference on February 15, 2017 titled
‘Introduction of Successful Youths of the Year’ in Safi Land-Mark Hotel. The objective of this
conference was introduction of 17 successful youths of the year. The representatives of presidency
and chief executive office, representatives of political parties and civil society organizations,
representatives of international organizations, some MPs and senators, university students and
youth rights activists attended this conference.
At the beginning of the conference, the objectives
of conference and findings of the ‘Youth and
Political Participation” workshops which were held
in some provinces of Afghanistan was presented
and then the opportunities and challenges before
youth were discussed by a panel.

Javid Aria, director of Afghan Women Services
Organization; Ahmad Khalid Weqar, staff of
administrative office the president; Ahmad Nasir Ayran, member of Youth’s Parliament; Bashir
Ahmad Qassani, journalist; Pamir Asas, staff of Technology department of parliament; Rangina
Kargar, member of parliament; Sultan Shah Safari, university lecturer; Shir Mohammad Entezar,
Spokesperson of Daikundi governor; Sabri Ander, temporary speaker of youth’s parliament; Abdul
Ghafar Nazari, director of a private company; Kawita Seddiqi, Deputy of World Food
Organization; Mariam Hussaini, member of Kabul provincial council; Manizha Ramizi,
spokesperson of New-Line Organization; Farahnaz Frotan, political journalist; Noor Wali
Khplwak, political journalist; Wakman Amin Samim, journalist and Mariam Arween, facilitator
of panel.
Objective:
Commendation of good and goodness is a proper culture. As, we criticize the improper works, we
must appreciate the hard works and achievements too. Appreciating those who have achievements
indicate our attention to them and their achievements. Appreciating youth for their achievements
encourage them to try more and work hard. Young period is spring time of human life. When
people become old they talk about their youngness and advice the youth to understand the value
of their life. Youth have a lot energy and capability therefore their life is different from others.
Attempts for creating arts, invention and creativity are the main characteristics of this period.
Youth are the main factor of development in communities. Whereas, Afghanistan is a young
society, youth presence and their achievements is tangible. Thousands of youth go to schools and
get ready for participating the university entrance exam to enter universities and academic
institutions. Similarly, many others attend universities and try to take part in reconstruction and
rebuilding of Afghanistan. Youth are the main supporters of democracy in Afghanistan and take
part in democratic processes. Millions of youth went to ballot boxes in elections and casted their
votes to play their role in political fate of their country. A considerable number of those work in
media are youth, many social media are run by youth and this is youth who try to take part in
development of Afghanistan and nation building. On the other hand, thousands of youth are
members of security forces of Afghanistan and defend their people and country against the
terrorism. They have paved the ground of a calm life for their people by standing against the
enemies of Afghanistan. Likewise, many other youth have raised the flag of Afghanistan in
international sports fields.
Introduction of the successful youths of the year is an initiative taken by FEFA in the country. The
objective of this program is identification and introduction of successful youths and convincing
them to take part in political processes and decision makings. The youths who have considerable
achievement in democratic fields are appreciated through this program and their biography along
with all their activities are published in a book.
Contents The conference began by recitation of some verses of Holy Quran and playing of the National
Anthem. Then, Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Rasheed, executive director of FEFA delivered the
opening remarks and said, “Nowadays, youths face several economic, political and social problems
but they must not be disappointed because beside these problems, there are educational and job
opportunities for them as well.” He added that unfortunately the leaders of National Unity
Government haven’t implemented their campaign commitments regarding youths.
Subsequently, Abu-Muslim Shirzad talked about the challenges before youth and said, “Distrust
about youth’s capabilities have disappointed many youth and negatively impacted them. Youth
must not scare of failure in life.” He added that his vision is trust in God, purposefulness and
perseverance. He also said that the youth must make resolute decisions and try to reach their
achievements.
Javid Aria talked about distrust on youth’s capabilities, lack of self-confidence and economic &
political challenges before youth and said, “Youth must strengthen their self-confidence and build
relation with different people in society.”
Ahamd Khalid Weqar, one of the successful youths of the year, thanked FEFA for introducing
successful youths of the years and said, “Economic problems is the biggest challenges before
youths are economic challenges, lack of access to education, insecurity and ethnic discrimination.”
He said that his vision is entering the parliament as representative of people to share the demands
of youths with government.
Ahmad Nasir Ayran, another successful young figure of the year, said, “Studying sociology,
understanding the situation of country and vulnerability of political situation of the country are the
reason of my presence in civil society of Afghanistan.” He added that his commitment and believes
to his goals inspire him to go forward and try more. He urged the government and civil society to
strengthen youth political participation, strengthen good governance and social justice in the
country.
Bashir Ahmad Qassani, an active Afghan journalist, said, “Poverty, unemployment and addiction
to narcotics are the biggest challenges before youth. Youth are successful when they can overcome
these challenges.” He added that since establishment of the National Unity Government the
percentage of youth appointment in political seats have increased and youth presence is seen
among ministers, ambassadors, deputy ministers and governors.” He added that Afghanistan is not
an ideal country for youth but youth must live here and change it to an ideal country.
Pamir Asas, another successful young figure of the year, said that the reason of his success is
having strong well. He added that youth must use the existed education opportunities. He also said
that youth must have strong decision and alternate programs in life.
Rangina Kargar talked about the challenges a young lady face during electoral campaign and said,
“The Afghan ladies cannot have political activities until their families do not let them.” She added
that during her electoral campaign she was threatened.”
Sultan Shah Safari another successful young figure of the years said that he face many problems
as a refugee and explained the story of his life. He has written many legal books and articles and
translated text books into Pashtu.
Shir Mohammad Entezar considers the experiences of his life as important lessons he learned
through his life. He said that there is distrust about capabilities of youth in Afghan society.
Sabri Ander said her that her physical disability has deprived her from many things but on the
other hand it inspire her to try more and it is the reason of her success. Mrs. Ander has always
fought with the challenges of her life and overcome the challenges. She has always attract the
attention of officials to youth’s problems and challenges.
Mr. Nazari talked about youth challenges and said, “Youth must stand against challenges.” He has
been working with the institutions which work for youth for more than a decade and said that youth
are the main factor of development and growth of society.
Mrs. Kawita Seddiqi said that the young generation of Afghanistan must not stop making attempts
due to bad situation. She added that young generation must find solutions for problems. She said
that lack of solidarity between youth is the main reason of mustiness of youth.
Miss. Mariam Hussaini another successful young figure of the year has passed a long time in
abroad and faced a lot of problems. She said, “I had a lot of problems in my life but never gave
up.” Her vision and program is having political activities.
Manizha Ramizi thanked FEFA for her selection
as a successful young figure of the year and said
such programs pave the ground for exchange of
experiences between youth. She introduces
herself as her life champion who have never
waited for others to do something for her. She
said that when young ladies enter the world of
politics, they face many problems. She believes
decades of civil war marginalized young
generation from politics and decision makings.
Her vision is strengthening women political
participation.
Mr. Noor Wali Akhpelwakh another successful young figure of the year emphasized on youth
economic self-sufficiency and said, “Until young generation are not economically self-sufficient,
they cannot make the right decision.” He believes that unity between youth can lead to youth
success.
Wakman Amin Safi another successful young figure of the year said, “Youth political participation
is a must and youth must trust in God and his prophet and strengthen their self-confidence.” He
recommended the government to handle youth’s problems.
Fahim Sediqqi who was introduced as a
successful young figure last year talked about
importance of program of introducing
successful young figures of the year and said,
“Through this program youths are appreciated
every year.” he added that the program
encourage youth and strengthen their political
participation.
At the end of the conference, Mohammad
Yousuf Rasheed, the executive director of
FEFA presented certificates of appreciation to all 17 successful young figures of the year.

Jabran Lorand talked about distrust on youth’s capabilities, lack of self-confidence and economic
& political challenges before youth and said, “Youth must strengthen their self-confidence and
build relation with different people in society.” And he added youth deputy of affairs doesn’t have
good paln for youth.
Hazbuallah Baryal , one of the successful youths of the year, thanked FEFA for introducing
successful youths of the years and asked youth for volunteerism he added if we build our selfies
we can build our society .
Sonia Kakar, another successful young
figure of the year, said, “Studying
sociology, understanding the situation of
country and vulnerability of political

Zazai representative of Wolsi Jirga Farid Mazdak representative of youth parliament and Astad
Aman Kabul university lecturer presented certificates and awards of appreciation to all 12
successful young figures of the year.
