Download - Introduction to the Continua at GWA
To give a brief background of what inspired the development of our curriculum
To review the process of how our continua were developed
To introduce the curriculum goals for each of the grade levels
Our goals for Math and Literacy in the PYP is for students to understand that the
development of skills are:
1. A vehicle to support inquiry
2. A way for students to make sense of the world
3. A tool for describing, analyzing and solving problems in our world
Our curriculum is articulated as a developmental continuum of skills document.
A variety of textbooks and resources help teachers to plan, teach and assess against outcomes from the continua documents.
The PYP emphasizes that teachers use a range and balance of teaching strategies, resources and assessment tools to create engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences for students.
