State Relations
Situation…..BOV has done great job "answering the bell"…but State level has been too "reactive"
Challenge…. Create a systematic and sustainable grass roots organization proactively focused on promoting the interests of UNC at the State level
Progress….Report today from Chair Michael Painter
![Page 8: Introductory Remarks UNC Board of Visitors Meeting April 24, 2009](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022050909/56815a74550346895dc7db02/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Recruiting CompetitivenessSituation…..
Expanded enrollment and increased competition from other universities challenge Carolina's ability to maintain/improve student body quality
Challenge….Create a Task Force on Recruiting Competitiveness to help the University develop and implement a plan to maintain/improve Carolina's competitive edge
Progress….Report today from Chair Michael Kennedy
![Page 9: Introductory Remarks UNC Board of Visitors Meeting April 24, 2009](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022050909/56815a74550346895dc7db02/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
University Branding
Situation….Carolina has one of the most prestigious "brands" in higher education…but multiple constituencies make an integrated brand strategy increasingly complex
Challenge….Create a University Branding Task Force to assist with the University's ongoing evaluation of its branding strategy
Progress….University initiative deferred until Fall 2009
![Page 10: Introductory Remarks UNC Board of Visitors Meeting April 24, 2009](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022050909/56815a74550346895dc7db02/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Continuing Involvement
Situation…..BOV Members want more ways to remain meaningfully involved with Carolina, both during and after their term
Challenge….Create a Continuing Involvement Task Force to identify and implement additional avenues for involvement by members and former members of the BOV
Progress…Kickoff of exit interviews/database
