Making the 1st connection – how will they remember

you is in the way you approach them

It’s Not About You, its About the Candidate:

• “Recruiters fill up my LinkedIn inbox, my

email, and my phone voice mail trying to fill a

position without knowing anything about me

or even speaking to me.”

• “Don't misunderstand this to mean I don't like

recruiters or don't use them, because I have

in the past and may in the future. They are

necessary to turn to when I am ready to

make a change because the few I know really

well and trust have their finger on the pulse

of the current job market for our industry”

Outreach

Page 8: It's not about finding talent, it's about engaging talent

How did you find them?

• Referral - Warm call

• Submitted themselves - warm call

• Database - semi warm call

• Found them another way - Cold call

• Was the candidate coming to you or are you going after

them? I don’t believe it matters.

• Many candidates at this time are applying to multiple roles

and when you warm/cold call someone it can be just the

same.

• Know why you are calling.

• Referrals, let them know from the get go they were referred;

it is an immediate ice breaker.

• Next, tell them why you are calling then LISTEN TO THEM!!!

I feel that we sometimes over talk or over question someone.

Paying it forward and why I like the fact YOU don’t

follow up

Always pay it forward and never forget to pay it back, it is how you got here and it defines where you are going… #truestory
