Reviving Resilience - Climate Change & Urban Design
Landscape design is like composing music because theintrinsic philosophy of landscape design and music is
similar.Musicians use simple notes to create variouspieces of beautiful melodies and different landscapes
have distinct rhymes and rhythms.Good designsshould convey art as well as promote the health andwelfare of people. The artistry and functionality of a
landscape should both be emphasized,as designerscreate and arrange spaces to satisfy the demands of
people.I am always trying to explore landscape design
approaches from diversied aspects and that is whyI transferred from my previous institute in China and
continued my Landscape Architecture program inUnited States.
I really appreciate that you take your time to reviewwhat Ive learned in the past four and a half years of my
undergraduate study.

DESIGN STRATEGIES
Integrate all the buildings and spaces into an environmental-friendly,multi-use community. Allow visitors and tourists to enjoy coastal scenery as well as encourage interaction betweenpeople and n ature by building viewing decks and terraces that extend into water.Promote playful experience and add visual pleasure by building parterres, installing foutainsand shaping land forms. Promote resilience of the site by enhancing green infrastructure (roof gardens, bioswales, wetlands, woodlands, raingardens and detention basin, etc).

TIME SANCTUARY
AN EXPLORATION OF SCALE, TIME & DIRECTION
PLAN VIEW SECTION VIEW
Time can change everything. Days and nights, all four seasons are messengers of time.Time cannot be stopped nor turned back. We can see the world changes as time goes by.Time Sanctuary is designed as a space for relaxation. It is a world in which people can enjoy themselves and forget about the slipping of time,a world in which time is captured and forgotten.Vines crawl over the glass cage, providing separation from distraction and clutters.Students can get closer to nature, ease their mind and relieve from mental fatigue in thisbeautiful garden.Human minds wander in the scenery and the feeling of being away is obtained.
