PRAYER INTENTIONS
FROM OUR PASTOR
Page 4 - 171
Pope Francis concludes his message for this year’s World Day of Vocations, May 3rd, with these words: “Dear friends, on this day in particular, but also in the ordinary pastoral life of our communities, I ask the Church to continue to promote vocations. May she touch the hearts of the faithful and enable each of them to discover with gratitude God’s call in their lives, to find courage to say “yes” to God, to overcome all weariness through faith in Christ, and to make of their lives a song of praise for God, for their brothers and sisters, and for the whole world. May the Virgin Mary accompany us and inter-cede for us.” The Gospel for this Good Shepherd Sunday invites us to listen to the voice of the shepherd who knows and loves us. Our Risen Lord continues to invite men and women to proclaim the Gospel in a unique way. Saint Agnes parish has been blessed with many vocations to the priesthood and religious life over the years. This is truly an inspiring reflection of the exceptional families in our parish and the encouragement, support and prayers of all of you. We currently have three seminarians: Kenneth Cavara, who will be ordained a deacon in June, Samuel Dugan, and Brother Michael Herlihey. One of the sisters who live in our convent, Sister Christina Marie, IHM, will be making her final vows in Au-gust. In the midst of the pandemic they are a bright light of hope for all of us! Please pray for them and an increase in vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. We are deeply grateful to our parishioners who are continuing their financial stewardship even though we are unable to be together for public Mass at this time. We are also sensitive to our families facing financial pressure these days. Please drop off your church contributions in the rectory drop-box door near the church on Gay Street anytime during the week, or mail them directly to the parish office at 233 West Gay Street, West Chester, PA 19380. You may also enroll in electronic giving at www.saintagnesparish.org/ways-to-give A special thank you to the families now participating in electronic giving, including an inspir-ing number of new families who enrolled during the months of March and April. Electronic giving ensures consistent financial support to the parish throughout the year. This steady support is even more critical during these weeks we are not able to gather publicly for Mass in church. Please consid-er enrolling at this time. In Christ’s love, Fr. Costa
During the Coronavirus Outbreak and to minimize social distancing to keep everyone safe, the KofC Council Home will temporarily remain CLOSED to its mem-bers and to the public. Thank you for your understand-ing. Stay tuned for any changes.
Ever consider becoming a member of the Knights of Columbus, #1333? If you are male, 18 yrs. old or older, and a practicing Catholic, please contact our New Financial Secretary Jim O’Melia at [email protected] or 267-205-9749.

UPDATES
FROM OUTREACH SERVICES At this writing we are serving 168 people a day for lunch, well over 200 during the course of the day for breakfast and diapers, groceries and other basic needs with some guests for advocacy and referral. We are well supplied thanks to all of you, The Body of Christ, loving those most in need of love.
Realistically we can only imagine that this is just the “tip of the iceberg” as financial needs will contin-ue to reveal themselves, and many might not find their jobs intact after some restrictions are lifted. So please, continue to pray for us and those we serve in your name and in Christ’s name. Please contin-ue to support the work here in whatever manner you can. Please know that you are in our prayers of gratitude and that the people who receive your kindness pray for you as well.
We will keep you informed of any new pressing needs and of the goodness we are privileged to wit-ness every day. May God continue to bless you with His love and His grace and good health!
PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED Please pray for the happy repose of the souls of all our faithful parishioners and friends and the consolation of the families, especially:

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
Page 6 - 171
This Sunday is the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. In the Gospel, Jesus tells us, “The harvest is great, but the laborers are few.” He then asks us, “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest.” (Lk. 10:1-2)
All Christians are called to witness to the Gospel through their Baptism and God calls some people to follow Him in a unique way by becoming priests, religious brothers or sisters, or deacons. The entire world benefits from having people respond to God’s call to these vocations.
Priests provide the world with the Sacraments, religious brothers and sisters remind us all that we are made for Heaven and a relationship with God, and deacons serve the poor and vulnerable in our communities.
Today let’s stop to say a prayer for vocations and to pray for these people who are just some of our parishioners whom God has called to follow Him through priesthood, religious life, and the diaco-nate.

BAPTISM ANNOUNCEMENTS
APOSTOLADO HISPANO
Page 8 - 171
