Happy St Vaientine's Day. It is time to
give those you love a hug and letthem know how much you care forthem.
Our January MARC meeting waslight on attendance I hope theweather and scheduling conflicts arebetter for this month's meeting.John, N6JCB, has proposed amystery ride after the meeting.Perhaps a stop for lunch can beincluded. I think this is a good ideaand hope the weather will be niceenough for Mijo and I to ride downfor the meeting and ride after. It hasbeen very cool and windy here inRjalto the past few days, not veryencouraging to ride a motorcycle. Ihave been out for a couple of shortrides close to home. This would
include a ride to HondaATamaha of
Redlands for ray 8,000 mile service(not cheap). With this servicecompleted, my motorcycle shouldbe ready for our spring events. Iwas told by the service manager thatmy battery (stock with themotorcycle) did not pass the loadtest but it still starts the motor on the
first press of the starter button so Iwill keep it for a bit longer.
At last month's meeting we diddiscuss the San Diego Tour De Curethat is scheduled for April 14, 2018MARC will support this event, soplease make a note on your calendarand keep that weekend open as we(MARC) will need all the help that
we can get, motorcycle mobile,SAG, and at net control. The 14thof April is our normal meetingdate so note that the meeting will beone week sooner on 7 April. Wealso have the Tour
of OC and the LA Tour De Cure
coming up soon this spring so keepsome time open on yourschedule for these two events.
The MARC net for February will beon Wednesday the 7th, with ourmeeting at the HomeTown Buffet on Saturday the 10th.The winner of last month's net
drawing of $5.00 wasMichael AF6FB. Check in on the
net and it might be your turn to win.Michael, AF6FB, has suggested
that we, MARC, try an adopt adealer program as anoutreach to other ham/motorcycleriders to increase our MARC
membership. The next timeyou are at your local dealer, contactthe owner/manager and inquire asthe time and date
of their next open house/ dealersponsored ride. Then ask if MARCcould attend and set
an E-Z up with a table and a coupleof chairs, and perhaps one or two ofour ratio
equipped motorcycles, to promoteMARC and recruit new members.
We could talk about the
benefits of HAM over CB and also
promote some of the charity eventsthat we participatein during the year.
