IntroductionMy passion for design started at a young age and has grown into a lifelong fascina-tion. My time at the University of Oregon has helped me hone my creative and artistic skills by challenging myself to explore new design principles and philosophies. During my time at the University Of Oregon Housing, as a Capital Construction Student Associate, I ex-plored new challenges such as coming up with a furniture plan for the New Residence Hall, and base fl oor plans for a coff ee shop in the Knight Library. I believe that design is a powerful tool which can enhance users experiences by providing easy to use livable, environmentally conscious, and functional spaces.
The work in my portfolio displays spaces which enhance the lives of all occupants. I am an extremely hardworking, self motivated, and detail oriented individual and am eager to continue to learn and grow. I am seeking a position where I can work alongside great de-signers in a position that creatively challenges me to produce high quality work.

Concept Software: Revit+Illustrator+ PhotoshopThe Seattle Sports Museum is designed around the separation of the player (hyper public, interactive spaces) on the basement, first and second floors of the building and the viewer (traditional museum spaces) which lies on upper floors (public, third and fourth floor). The basement and southern half of the first floor is closed off from the rest of the museum on game days and would be open free of charge to the general public. Here individuals can challenge each other to foosball tournaments, play a mini soccer match, or kick on the Kinect. The second floor has the strategy space which is used as rentable space. For special events this entire floor would be closed down to the general public.3

This ferry boat design plans to celebrate the revamping of Seattle, and enhance the connection between the Coleman Docks and the Stadium district specifi cally Century Link Field. This Seahawks and Sounders specialty branded boat will transform the fans experience and provide a new means to Drew Carries march to the stadium. The dining area will become a centralized gathering space where fans can go to celebrate, and cheer together enjoying a bite of traditional Seattle cuisine: Iver ’s and Starbucks. In essence this ferry will unit Seattleites by becoming a new found gathering destination, not just merely a means of transportation.

The Center of Universal Design’s primary function is to provide resources and meeting spacesin order to educate the general public, administrators, and individuals with disabilities on universal design. It is located in the old Marine Electric Building which is at the corner of Fremont and Howard Street in San Francisco. The space is divided into education quarters and commercial quarters. The commercial quarters is located on the eastern side of the building, and contains the store, fl exible seating space, calm rooms, and a coff ee bar. The learning quarters, located on the west side of the building, includes the exhibit space, classrooms, offi ces, a library, and a rooftop Zen garden.

Tactile Arts is created to be an educational incubator space that supports the user’s creativity. The space has a multitude of rooms designed for specifi c crafts such as weaving, knitting, sewing, spinning, and dying. The additional rooms in the program help to support these crafts by providing pivotal inspirational moments throughout the building. This can be identifi ed in the plethora of display walls, large gallery, and artist and residence gallery. The name the Tactile Arts derived from the conceptual notion of the tangibility of materials which is emphasized by the entry walls which use textured wall papers that mimic fabrics. This design plays to the current design of the Kennel Ellis building, located in Eugene Oregon, by using the columns as a structural grid which the layout follows.

The Dante Alighiere School and Study Center is located in Rome, Italy. The school helps individuals learn a second language. The goal was to create a building that seemlessly ties into the Noli map by playing homage to historical paths. The interior further interacts with the walkable paths by placing public spaces on lower floors. The programmatic spaces include a: restaurant, bar, gallery, aula (class-rooms), seminar rooms, a language lab, computer lab, staff offices, and rooftop terrace.

The design challenge was to create a library in Whitaker located in Eugene, Oregon. The entire space is designed around the conceptual notion of light as knowledge. As the user travels deeper into the library, symbolically further into knowledge, the space opens up in the form of a large floor to ceiling window. Similarly the heritage room has an occulas over it which helps to draw attention to the focal point of this library.

The concept behind this design is that each programmatic element is paralleled to that of an element inside the computer. The con-sumer then travels through the space as if they are electricity traveling through varying user pathways. The entrance is thus the power button which allows users to access the information from inside. The user is then offered a choice, they can either enter the meeting/class room also known as the hard drive (information access point), or the consumer can go into the graphics card (the retail space) where binary information is transformed into a visual tangible item. In the back of the house the technicians (the power supply) are then fueling the entire space allowing it to function properly. The break room (the fan) is located near the technician space. The modern design of the space enhances the idea of being inside the computer. The blue color plays homage to Mac’s traditional computer colors. It also subtly references the movie Tron, which had the occupants stuck inside a video game.

The design for this chair is based off of a fondant duck created by a blind craftsman in China. I was inspired by the curving fluid lines of the duck and used that fluidity in my design. The bended plywood is meant to mimic the ducks curve. While the spine represents the nar-row neck structure of the duck. I was attempting to improve usability and comfort by creating a taller chair that would benefit taller indi-viduals. The legs are slightly taller than that of a typical chair.

The Coffee Shop is prominently located in the northwestern corner of the Knight Library. The current space is severly outdated, and uninviting to students. The goal is to reactivate the coffee shop into a place where students will want to go study or just hangout. This is done by enticeing students through lines of sight. Four diffrent tones were picked for this project as seen above. This project is still in prog-ress and will continue to be further developed.

Though Mahlum Architects designed the New Residence Hall at the University of Oregon, I generated the furniture package for this 531 bed residence hall. The goal was to create durable yet flexible spaces that will help to enhance students experiences in the dorms. There was a variety of space in the furniture package including: a learning commons, a conference room, residential community spaces, a maker hacker space, offices, storage, two apartments, residence rooms, music rooms, central living rooms, lounges, and studies. This project is still in process, the project is scheduled to be completed in July 2017.
