Kauai Activities List
Welcome UCA to the beautiful island of Kauai. Due to the popularity of
these tours they tend to fill up quickly, so we recommend scheduling them in advance by completing the included activity reservation form. Upon completion, please email your form to [email protected].
All activities are booked on a space available basis. Should your requested
date not be available, an alternate date and/or time may be supplied to you for consideration. Once the tour timings are confirmed, you
will receive an email confirmation from our team outlining your reservation details, as well as instructions on where to pick-up
your vouchers when arriving at the hotel.
Also, please note that most of the activities do not include transportation to and from the hotel. Due to this we have asked on the reservation form if you will need a taxi service arranged or plan to have a rental car. In the event that you have a vehicle, we will attach detailed directions to and from each location to the vouchers you will be receiving at the hotel. Otherwise, we will include the concierge desk extension so you may
arrange for a taxi directly through the hotel.

Star Na Pali Snorkel BBQ Sail
This Star sailing adventure gets an early departure from
Port Allen on the West shore of Kauai. As we head
towards Na Pali you’ll see views of Niihau, Polihale and the ridges of Kokee. The am departure generally means
we have calmer conditions and virtually ensures an encounter with the massive pod of Hawaiian Spinner
dolphins that cruise up the coast daily.
Generally we take a nearshore route up the entire coast then sail downwind offshore so you get a variety of
views. On Na Pali you’ll see spectacular sea cliffs, numerous waterfalls and lava tubes. Kauai is the oldest of
the main Hawaiian islands, and this carved coastline is the result of nearly 8 million years of exposure to
wind, waves and rain. In addition to seagoing skills, the crew is knowledgeable in the history and legends of the ancient civilizations that once inhabited these verdant valleys.
After a relaxing and beautiful downwind sail, the captain will pull in to one or our favorite remote snorkel
spots. Here, they will anchor and passengers can get in the water, or simply relax. After snorkeling the crew prepares a delicious lunch in the onboard kitchen, which they will offer with beer and wine (only
available after snorkeling) before sailing back to the port.

Mountain Tubing Adventure
A water system that once irrigated vast sugar crops on Kauai has been unused since sugar was taken out of production in
2000. The irrigation system runs through some of the most beautiful and remote land on the island. It includes
spectacular views of the ocean, coastline, mountains and
valleys. Wanting to share this beauty with everyone, the land-owners have opened up the ditch and now offer tube rides
down the Lihue Plantation irrigation tunnel system. The waters which originate near the top of Mount Wai‘ale‘ale, one
of the wettest spot in the world, are channeled through ditches
and tunnels hand-dug by plantation workers over a century ago!
Guests will check-in at the base yard where they will sign waivers and be outfitted with headlamps and
gloves. Wet suits and water shoes are available for rent. Arriving at the launch location, guests are outfitted with a tube and given safety and tubing instructions. Jumping in for a leisurely cruise, guests
will enjoy one of Kauai’s spectacular engineering feats, engineered and hand dug circa 1870. During the
tour, guides will provide information regarding the local plants, wildlife, and the history of Kauai and the sugar plantations. Following the tubing experience, guests are guided to a fresh water swim hole to enjoy

South Shore Scuba Dive
Kauai, nicknamed The Garden Island, is the oldest, fourth largest and least populated of the Hawaiian Islands. Divers visiting Kauai will
discover a host of excellent dive sites along the shoreline as well as
from custom built dive boats in offshore waters. Kauai offers an interesting topography of lava ridges, pinnacles, archways, caves and
caverns formed by molten lava meeting the sea. Wave action and erosion over the centuries formed coral reefs and miles of sand
beaches. The warm tropical waters are teaming with marine life
around the beautiful coral reefs in an array of pastel colors.
Enjoy the spacious comfort of a custom fitted PRO48 dive boat, Coast
Guard certified for 42 passengers and 30 divers. However, for an optimal diving experience, the limit is 18 divers for the south shore diving trips.
The vessel is fitted with two hot water showers, 10-person carpeted observation deck (great for taking in
the sights), two ladders for exiting the water, a camera table and rinse bucket and a CD stereo. It also
sports a large covered cab with a carpeted deck to get out of the sun or warm up after the dive.
Morning charters often will do drift dives. The first dive is usually 80-90 feet and the second is 60-70 feet. Dive sites are based on water quality and requests from guests to dive the popular locations such
as Brenneckes Ledge, Ice Box, Fastlanes, General Store and Sheraton Caverns.

Allerton Garden – National Tropical
Botanical Gardens
Once a retreat of Hawaii's Queen Emma, the cliffs
of the Lāwa`i Valley still cascade with her favorite deep-purple bougainvillea. Delight the senses in
this garden of beauty, a masterpiece of landscape design and a natural showcase for tropical plants.
Behold the seemingly ancient Jurassic Park trees
(Moreton Bay Figs). Stroll through outdoor “rooms,” besides rippling pools and dramatic
sculpture. Drink in the sights and sounds of fascinating plants, vibrant flowers and flowing
water. Taste the flavor of Europe blended with the spirit of Hawai‘i.
Allerton Garden (Lāwa`i-kai) lies between the Pacific Ocean and the McBryde Garden in the Lāwa`i Valley, on the south shore of the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. It is a garden paradise, transformed through
time by the hands of a Hawaiian Queen, by a sugar plantation magnate, and most significantly by an artist and an architect. The endless possibilities found in this dramatic topography led to the creation of
this masterpiece of garden art. Towering rainforest trees with tall curving roots grow near bronze
mermaids, a grove of swaying golden bamboo, a cut-flower garden, and tropical fruit trees. Here the focus is on landscape design, but among the plantings are botanically important species of the tropics,
including varieties of palms, ki (ti), heliconias, and gingers.

Kayak & 30’ Rappel
The tour begins with a guided kayak trip up the Hule'ia River; easy
downwind paddle (70-90min) into the heart of the National Wildlife
Refuge. The first short hike is a 10-15min walk along a lush forest trail, to an awaiting Island Adventure 14 passenger van. A 6-minute
van ride takes us to the beginning of our own private trail. (Our company leases 40 acres of private land adjoining the Hulei'a
National Wildlife Refuge. The waterfalls are exclusive to Island Adventures). After a detailed lesson on rappelling, we start the
second hike down to the waterfalls.
This is a 15 minute nature hike through a tropical forest abundant
with succulent guava, passion fruit, laua'e fern and noni fruit, leading to your ultimate destination, two secluded private waterfalls! The
first 30ft waterfall is named "Bamboo Falls". Here is where guest will
get their first chances to rappel.
The second is a 60ft cascading waterfall named "Papakolea Falls", where guests will have the opportunity to swim and take photos.
