Keynote:RedefiningourPractice:StudentVoices,ApaneldiscussionwithCTstudents

PleasejoinusfortheCTCOLTVirtualFallConferencefromSunday,October18–Thursday,October22,2020,anonlinevirtual

conference.Thisyearhasbeenayearlikenoneother,andit’sonlyappropriatetoalsochangetheformatofourconference.

Thisyear’sconferencewillbeavirtualone,heldcompletelyonline.Whileweknowthatoneofourgreateststrengthsasa

professionisourmembershipandthecollegialityandcamaraderiethatweshare,weacknowledgethatbringingourattendees

togethersimplycannothappenthisyear.Ourfallconferencecommitteehasbeenhardatworkreformattingourconference

tobestmeettheneedsofourattendees.Thisyear’sconferencewillhaveanumberofchanges,includingapaneldiscussion

withstudentsfromaroundthestate,workshopsofferedintheafternoonandevening,andlengtheningourvirtualconference

toafive-dayevent.Wearethrilledtosharethisyear’sconferencesessionswithyou,sothatyoucanplanaheadtolearnand

sharewithcolleaguespresentingfromnotonlyConnecticut,butfromexpertsinourfieldfromacrossthecountry.TheCTCOLT

five-dayvirtualconferenceisorganizedwiththesamethreegoalsinmindthatwealwayshave:(1)toofferinawide-varietyof

workshopsforprofessionalgrowth(2)toprovideopportunitiestovisitexhibitorsandnetworkwithcolleagues,and(3)tolisten

toandtobeenergizedbynotonlyourkeynotepanel,buttothemanyvoicesofprofessionalswhofreelysharetheirtimeand

expertise.

ANEWSCHEDULE

SundayafternoonwillbeginwithsessionsforourCTCOLTNetworkingFellowship(invite-only)andourfirst-timeattendeesand

newteachernetworkinggroup(opentoallattendees).Followingthesesessions,wewillhaveourkeynotepaneldiscussion.

After our keynote, there will be three one-hour concurrent sessions, at 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm, each with two options of

workshops.Thisyear,weareexcitedtowelcomethe2020ACTFLNationalTeacheroftheYear,RebeccaBlouwolff,andHelena

Curtain,LeslieGrahn,andmanymore,aspresenters.Workshopswillbeofferedat4pmand7pmMonday-Thursday,whichwill

allowattendeestojoinusafterschoolforthelateafternoonand/oreveningsessions.Manypresentershavegraciouslyallowed

ustorecordsessions,whichwillbemadeavailabletoallattendeesthroughDecember31,2020.Presentationswillbeaccessible

through theCTCOLTwebsite, using yourCTCOLTmembership login information. Thisway, youwill be able to catch any

presentationthatyoumissthroughtheendoftheyear.
