KINDERGARTEN INLAKE CENTRAL

• Half-day program – AM session (8:10 - 10:40)– Limited number of sites– District will transport to school only

• Full-day program– 8:10 – 2:40

Full-Day vs Half-Day Kindergarten

• Both programs teach the Indiana State Standards

• HDK students attend computers and library each week

• FDK students attend art, music, PE, computers and library each week

• FDK students have additional time for enrichment and/or interventions

Kindergarten Costs• 2014/2015 textbook rental and

fees will be set later this spring.

• Currently they are: $164.00 FDK $154.00 HDK

Is my child ready for Kindergarten?• Have you read to your child on a regular basis

since she or he was born and talked about these books?

• Have you provided life experiences to your child on a regular basis (trips to the grocery store, rides on a train, a visit to the apple orchard and the library)?

• Have you had discussions with your child about the world around them?

• Have you encouraged your child to ask questions and explore things they may be unsure of or things that they are excited about?

Is my child ready for Kindergarten?

• Have they had opportunities to socialize with groups of children their age throughout their first years of life?

• Have you allowed them to cut, glue, draw, color and create on a regular basis?

• Have you allowed them to make choices and decisions on their own, but also provided them with boundaries?

• Have you made it clear that they are a very special child, but not the only special child in the world?

• Have you told your child that you loved them and hugged them every day of their life?

– Parent and child attend– Approximately one hour in length

• Chance to meet the teacher• Receive information regarding classroom

procedures and expectations• Your home school will send out information

about all these important dates

• Report Card – on RDS 4 times a year

• The same core curriculum will be taught in all classrooms.
