Community and Donor Engagement Coordinator Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Community and Donor Engagement Coordinator RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Development CLASS: Exempt SALARY: Full time, non-exempt at $19.00/hour. Health insurance added after 60-days; other benefits added after 90-day mutual trial period completed. SUMMARY of POSITION: The primary responsibilities of the Community and Donor Engagement Coordinator are to oversee the development, implementation and coordination of food and fund drives conducted throughout Lane County. This position also supports fundraising events, such as the Empty Bowls Dinner & Auction, Chef’s Night Out, and other third-party fundraising events. This position works closely with the Events & Media Relations Coordinator as well as the Marketing Coordinator to promote engagement opportunities with FOOD For Lane County (FFLC) externally, with a focus on social media. PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Food & Fund Drives Coordination:

Oversees all aspects of major food and fund drives Receives/responds to inquiries about food drives. Provides appropriate materials, instructions,

schedules barrel deliveries and pickups, relays poundage results at conclusion of drives. (There are approximately 300+ drives each year.)

Generates food-poundage receipts and driver tickets in a timely manner Maintains a filing system, including directory of businesses, churches, schools, clubs, etc., for

food/fund drives Attends and represents FFLC at major food/fund drive events. This may involve public speaking on

behalf of FFLC Receives and receipts food and cash donations at food and fund drives Oversees and administers the use of food/fund drive software (Classy) being careful to integrate data

accurately with donor database (DonorPerfect) Maintains and develops food/fund drive information for the website and print Uses company or personal vehicle to deliver and pick-up food drive collection containers and

materials occasionally Assists with the recruitment, scheduling, and coordination of volunteers and/or other employees as

needed for food/fund drives Prepares reports on food/fund drives outcomes to Development Director on a regular basis. Develop

an annual working plan with strategy for continually improving and growing the benefits of food/fund drives

Social Media Coordination: Assists Events & Media Relations Coordinator with development, implementation and oversight of

FFLC’s social media activities Develops comprehensive social media campaigns that build awareness and engagement in FFLC’s

Development strategies, as well as Programs and Services-related goals Enlists Development team to prepare regular (e.g. weekly) social media schedule of posts

Compiles and reports our results on key performance indicators (KPIs) Works with Development team to develop appropriate and effective content Monitors feedback and helps guide responses (comments) on our posts in a timely and professional

manner Keeps abreast of the latest social media best practices and technologies

Fundraising Event Support: Supports the Events & Media Relations Coordinator with special events and fundraising activities,

including the Empty Bowls Dinner & Auction, Chefs’ Night Out, Grilled Cheese Experience, and other third-party fundraising events

Contributes to the success of FFLC fundraising events by helping the Events & Media Relations Coordinator and event committee members to procure auction items, prizes, etc.

Helps recruit and train volunteers for fundraising events Assists with promotion of fundraising events to help increase attendance and participation at/in

events Supports other Development team members in stewardship activities after fundraising events are

complete

OTHER TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates FFLC organizational values of compassion, inclusion and collaboration externally and internally at all times

Interacts directly with FFLC donors, volunteers and the public with respect and professionalism Meets weekly with the Development Director Attends all staff meetings at FFLC (including department meetings, retreats, events, etc.) Participates in Oregon Food Bank (OFB) conference calls and/or meetings when relevant to this

position Works occasionally on evenings, weekends and some holidays Performs other duties and tasks as requested by supervisors

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated experience working with donors and volunteers in fundraising capacities Ability to work collaboratively with team members and independently Experience with organizing and supporting events Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Social Media Coordinator or equivalent experience Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WordPress and other social media best practices and

KPIs Experience with MS Office including Word, Excel and PPT. Proficient with database systems,

preferably donor databases Excellent written and oral communication skills Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously, manage time wisely and maintain high level

of organization Actively demonstrate FFLC’s values of compassion, inclusion and collaboration Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information Valid Oregon driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, ability to use personal vehicle for FFLC

business, and qualify for insurance coverage with FOOD for Lane County’s carriers All offers for employment are contingent on a satisfactory background check
