Kuwait Royal Enfield Club(KREC) was formed inJanuary 2016 and is a group
of multi-national Royal Enfieldmotor bike owners hailing fromKuwait, India, Russia, Jordan,Philippines, Pakistan and Nepal.KREC organized the “IndianIndependence Ride” on Friday, 12thAugust, 2016 to commemorate the70th Independence Day of India.The Royal Enfield riders assembledby 6.a.m on the seaside opposite tothe Indian Embassy in Kuwait.Following self-introduction by allthe attendees, KREC President Dr.Kiran Gopinathan addressed thegathering on the aim, route, andmission of ride.

Kuwait landmark recognized global-ly. The group included Mr. VictorWinsent (IO Centre), Mr. Vinu Nair(KAICO), Mr. Youseff ‘joe’ Al-Sadi(Equate Petrochemical Co.), Mr.Roosewel Parial (KAICO), Mr.Mohammed Amanulla (CountryClub Fitness FTX), Mr. ZohrabTashejan (Carrefour), Mr. SaleemHyder (Jashanmal), Mr. FakhriIbrahim ( Interior DesignConsultants) and Mr. SajanRamachandran (Capago Mena) andthey had a discussion on motorcy-cle safety and future ride plans. VicePresident Mr. Abdulkarim AlSayeghemphasized and thanked the Indiancommunity on their substantial rolein shaping Kuwait to its presenthigh medical, industrial and con-struction standards. The riders then moved along theArabian Gulf Street towards Salmiyawhere a group of Indian cricketerswhere enthusiastically playing evenin this scorching summer heat. Theprestigious cap of Kuwait RoyalEnfield Club was distributed to allthe cricketers including Mr. JustinAntony, Mr. Joby Jose, Mr. ShibuGeorge Adoor, Mr. Shine, Mr.Philson, Mr. Sumesh, Mr. Abin andMr. Pradeep. The cricketers invitedthe KREC members to join them formatches in future. Many of themdisclosed their passion for theRoyal Enfield but were unknownthat the legendary Indian motor-bike is very much available inKuwait. Following photo sessionwith the cricketers, the riders con-voyed through the streets inSalmiya Block 10 and finally con-cluded at Udupi restaurant for a tra-ditional Indian breakfast.

Management from SGS Kuwait, part of themultinational SGS Group which is the world’s lead-ing company for inspection, verification, testingand certification, handed over the ISO certificateto the higher management of LuLu Hypermarket,during a ceremony organized at its Al Rai outlet on
14 August. A large crowd of shoppers and well-wishers were on hand to witness the function.
This is a significant achievement for LuLuHypermarket as it becomes the first hypermarketin Kuwait to be awarded this accreditation. Thebrand has consistently undertaken all measuresneeded to ensure the highest standards in thesourcing, storage, display and sale of their prod-ucts.
The ISO 22000-2005 accreditation reiterates thehypermarket’s high standards in food safety man-
agement and its commitment to ensure that itsvarious outlets have the ability to control foodsafety hazards and to provide consumers withfoods that are of the best and safest quality.
The certification further demonstrates thehypermarket’s compliance with all regulatoryrequirements regarding food safety and efficienthandling of food, and underlines the brand’s sup-port for strong quality control in the food sectorand the implementation of exemplary food man-agement systems for the food industry.
