To Our Guests…

We are blessed to have you here with us for worship

today. Our prayer is that your time with us will be a

blessing, and that you will find the worship uplifting, the

message encouraging, the Lamar Avenue family

friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. For families,

we have a staffed nursery (ages birth-24 months)

located in the back of the foyer. We also offer

Children’s worship for children ages 2 through

Kindergarten. They will be dismissed during our

assembly. Please stop by the Welcome Center (located

in the middle of the foyer) for more information about

our church family and the many different ministries we

are involved with. We are so glad you are here and

hope you will join us as we seek to know God and His

vision for His people and the world.

LAMAR AVENUE CHURCH OF CHRIST

Our Vision is …

Connect with God Our Vision is …

Unity of Believers Our Vision is …

Restore All Things

The people brought children to Jesus, hoping that He might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was quick to scold them. “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then gathering the children up

in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.” (Mark 10:13-16—Message Version)

CELEBRATE NEW LIFE—Children are a gift from God, and this morning, we want to take time to remind our new parents the importance of leading a child into a growing relationship with Christ so as they get older, they are able to guide them and to help them understand what that means. Our role as a church is also important as we support, encourage, and pray for these parents.

As parents and grandparents we all want the very best for our children. We all have great hopes for them. What is the very best for our children? What is the greatest hope we can have for our children? Our passage tells us the answer. “The people brought children to Jesus, hoping that He might touch them.” Isn’t that what we all long for? To be touched by the hand of our Creator. The very best thing a parent can do for their child is to help bring them to Jesus.

I love the way John says it in 3 John 1:4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth”. We are glad that you are here this morning as we offer praise and worship to God and recommit our lives to serving Him each day.

It’s that commitment that binds you together no matter what comes. It’s only when you have reached deep inside to know what your needs are, and have also looked deep into the heart and mind of the one to whom you are promised — only then can you truly say, “I love you for now until eternity.” On Sunday, February 28th , we will celebrate marriage as a reminder of the kind of commitment God talks about. Join us as we celebrate a beautiful gift from God.

Ekklesia Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Good morning my dear brothers and sisters at Lamar Avenue church. I hope you are having a wonderful day, as we are getting ready to start worshipping our God. As you know, the Elders of the Church, and as part of the new Vision of the Congregation, the purchase of a building for the Hispanic congregation, now is a reality. We will start meeting in this new location on March 6th, God willing. I’m sure that we will use this new location, to reach more souls to Christ. I want to invite you to come by to my new office any time. The address of the new Church Building is 185 N.E. 20thSt. Paris, Texas. We, the Hispanic brethren, and me and my family, are so excited about this new journey, and a new task that God is putting in front of us. We know it is part of His blessings, and for that reason, we are so thankful. We are very thankful to God, and also to each one of you, for all your love and support that you are showing to us. I’m especially thankful to the Elders of the Congrega-tion, past and present, for all their love for the Hispanic group. Also, thanks to very member of the staff past and present for their support in every aspect. I want to tell you that we will look for opportunities to spend time together. One of my ideas, is to invite Life Groups, from time to time, to the new building so we can spend time together worshipping our Lord, and as part of the new Vision of Lamar Avenue, to Restore All Things in Christ. After all these years writing in this bulletin, this is my last article. I want to thank each and every one of you who read my articles, and from time to time, come to encourage me with your words and critiques. For me, it was a growing experience, thanks for the opportunity. Please be sure to come to me if I can help you in any way. On behalf of me and my family, I want to thank each one of you, we love you very much. Your brother in Christ. Marcelino Rodriguez Jr.
