Identify the background, middle ground(s), and foreground.
SCALE!
As objects come forward in space, towards the viewer, they appear
larger.
As they recede into the background, their scale gets perceptually smaller.
The multiple layers (background, middle ground, and foreground) create a clear image that gives the illusion of depth and scale.
4 layers on top of each other
TODAY: Carefully plan and draw 2 landscapes
with at least 6 different layers each.
DO NOT HAVE MORE THAN 8 LAYERS ON YOUR DRAWING.
Draw lightly to easily erase mistakes.
Keep it simple, you will be redrawing your final landscape onto thicker paper.
Once you have finished your drawing, bring it to Miss Muehl to be approved.
You will only get one final painting paper, no exceptions.
