Support the Production of our Bulletin Producing our own bulletin allows us to meet the needs of the three lan-
guages. If we were to send this bulletin out to be produced, we would have
to have one bulletin in English only for everyone and the publications of the
Readings in Italian and Spanish would have to come to an end. Help us by
Supporting our advertisers and also by placing an ad in our bulletin for
a year. Please call the office for more information.

As confirmed Catholics, go and make a difference in the Church and in the whole world. May our Mother Mary help us all to grow in faith and in our love for God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Fr. Josue Vargas Lara
Prayer to Saint Michael Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly
pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary We take refuge under your protection, oh Holy Mother of God. Despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, oh glorious and
blessed Virgin. Amen.
Mass Intentions
We ask the community to kindly request mass intentions ahead of time. Mass intentions to be announced on weekend masses and days of the following week must
be requested by Wednesday of each week. We cannot change dates for mass intentions previously requested. Thank you for your understanding and your co-operation.
ShareLife Living the Gospel by supporting isolated seniors. In the span of three months, Debbie felt she had lost everything. Her partner of 33 years died, her leg was
amputated, and she could no longer care for her beloved pets. She turned to the Society of Sharing, a ShareLife-funded agency, who partnered her with a volunteer named Geof. Not only did Geof provide friendship, he used his teaching background to help Debbie fulfill a lifelong goal: learning how to properly read. Though it will be impossible for Debbie to regain all she has lost, her life is feeling full again. Next weekend we have a second collection for ShareLife. Please give generously.

The Catholic Church requires the following of Godparents for Baptism: (canon 874.1)
You may choose the sponsor/Godparent, either male or female. Godparents are to be at least sixteen years of age and must be Catholics who have already been confirmed
and have received the holy Eucharist. They should be leading a life in harmony with the faith; i.e., practicing Catholics (attending Mass), and, if married, in a valid Catholic Marriage They may not be the father or mother of the one to be baptized. Grandparents can be godpar-ents.
Pray for Vocations Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him and we will come to him. How will I respond to that love? Am I being called to the
priesthood or religious life? If you think God is calling you to be a priest,
religious or deacon, contact Fr. Chris Lemieux, Vocation Director, Archdio-cese of Toronto 416-968-0997 or email [email protected]

Planning to be a Catholic School Teacher?
It is critical for you to know that to be hired to teach in any Catholic School Board in Ontario as part of your applica-tion for employment you must provide a letter of recommendation from your Pas-tor. It is highly recommended to contact the pastor a year in advance, especially in light of the fact that all universities make this matter known to every student at the beginning of the year. Please plan to have a conversation with your pastor early in the process (not the week before you are submitting your application) and you will avoid disappointment and stress at the time when applications are to be submitted.
The following are required at St. Jude’s: Be (yourself, not your parents or
grandparents) a registered member of the parish using offertory envelopes (at least 1 year before the application).
Be in the parish for participation in Sunday/Saturday mass for a minimum of 12 months prior to approaching the pastor.
Make your request 3 months in ad-vance. Applicant must be the one mak-ing the requests.
No request by a relative or a parent will be accepted .
The pastor has to be able to recommend you, and that is only possible if he knows you at the basic level of regular mass attendance. Personal knowledge of the candidate’s faith practice is what the pas-tor needs to recommend, not your rela-tives, but yourself, as this is a personal recommendation not a family one.
Questions for Reflection:
What kind of vision are we reading in the Second Reading? Is it literal? If so, since the temple had been the sym-bol of God’s presence for so many centuries, why is it left out in John’s vision?
Do the “names of the twelve tribes” and the “names of the twelve apos-tles” on the gates and stones of the city close the chasm between the Old Testament Jews and the New Testa-ment Christians?
