‘A’ personal
Translate the two sentences below:
- Yo veo una película en el cine. ___________________________________________________________

A direct object is the ________________________ or ________________________ that receives the action of the verb.

DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS (DOPs)

In both Spanish and English, direct object nouns can be replaced by direct object pronouns.
I eat the apple. I eat it.
I see my friends. I see them.
Let’s review placement of direct object pronouns. In a simple sentence, Spanish direct object pronouns are placed:
__________________________________________________________
Yo como la manzana. Yo la como.
Yo veo a mis amigos. Yo los veo.
Remember that when a sentence has two verbs, there are two options for direct object pronoun placement:
_______________________________________________________, OR
_____________________________________________________
Yo debo comer la manzana. Yo la debo comer. OR Yo debo comerla.
Quiero ver a mis amigos. Los quiero ver. OR Quiero verlos.
