LEADERSHIP• According to Niderfrank (1966) leadership is essential in simply

influencing attitudes and actions of one or more persons leading towards the achievement or so purpose.

• Lester (1975) defines leadership as the resource that an individual or group USI to enable the organization to do what it needs, should or wants to do.

• According to Davis (1977) "Leadership is the ability to persuade others to seek defined objectives enthusiastically".

• Dahama and Bhatnagar (1985), leadership is the process who in any social situation with his ideas and actions influence the thoughts and behaviour of other Leadership are the process of influencing the thoughts and behaviour of others towards goal setting and goal achievement

TYPES OF ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP

Laissez-Faire leadershipA laissez-faire leader lacks direct supervision of

employees and fails to provide regular feedback to those under his supervision. Highly experienced and trained employees requiring little supervision fall under the laissez-faire leadership style.

Autocratic leadership

The autocratic leadership style allows managers to make decisions alone without the input of others. Managers possess total authority and impose their will on employees. No one challenges the decisions of autocratic leaders

Participative leadership

• Democratic leadership style• Participative leadership values the input of

team members and peers, but the responsibility of making the final decision rests with the participative leader.

• Participative leadership boosts employee morale because employees make contributions to the decision-making process.

Transactional leadership

• Managers using the transactional leadership style receive certain tasks to perform and provide rewards or punishments to team members based on performance results.

• The manager possesses power to review results and train or correct employees when team members fail to meet goals.

• Employees receive rewards, such as bonuses, when they accomplish goals.

Transformational leadership

• The transformational leadership style depends on high levels of communication from management to meet goals. Leaders motivate employees and enhance productivity and efficiency through communication and high visibility.

• Leaders focus on the big picture within an organization and delegate smaller tasks to the team to accomplish goals.

• Leadership in Entrepreneurship can be defined as "process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common tasking "one who undertakes innovations, finance and business acumen in an effort to transform innovations into economic goods".

• An entrepreneur typically has a mindset that seeks out potential opportunities during uncertain times. This leads us to see that an entrepreneur must have leadership skills or qualities in order to see potential opportunities and act upon them.

• An entrepreneur, at the core, is a decision maker. Such decisions often have an impact on an organization as a whole, which is representative of their leadership amongst the organization.
