Learn Piano Notes And Be
Speedy
Here we are. The Piano Notes page with the seemingly well known images
of piano keyboards.
I say seemingly because many of us believe we know the notes so well. After
all, there are only seven white ones and five black ones; and they just repeat
over and over again. For the most part this is true. The reality of it is that
many times as we progress we need to find notes quickly. Then comes
having to find combinations of notes quickly.
First off, here's a labeled keyboard with a treble clef for good note reading
training:
If you already know the note names, fine. If this is new to you, take the time
you need to be certain of the placement of the seven alphabet names. It's a
good idea to note carefully the first white key to the left of the two black
keys. That is the infamous C.
Use your own method to pick up speed. Even if you are an intermediate
musician, you can pick up some speed practicing a fundamental like this.
The old forwards and backwards method is good for starters. I always like to
be good at things slowly and thoroughly before I push for speed. If you have
another method that works for you, use it here. Just be sure to build certainty
before speed.
Now, here's an unlabeled keyboard:
are to guess what I'm going to ask you to do now?
That's right. First make certain that the labeled keyboard is out of sight. Then
use the same forwards and backwards method, your method, or any method
that you used on the labeled keyboard before. The idea here is for your
imagination to get clearer and faster, under an air of certainty.
For an interesting view on learning and recognizing piano notes fast, if you
want to learn by intuition and apply the principle of “Say It Out Loud!”
based on your own psychology as a learning human being.
