The Diagnostic Imaging Department is pleased to announce three latest advances.
Ultrasound is used in a variety of ways in a medicalsetting, from the diagnosis of disease to confirmation of bloodflow. Perhaps our latest upgrade to our ultrasound is the mostmemorable - 3D pictures of your baby.
At approximately 20 weeks, an ultrasound can beperformed and with a little cooperation from the baby,3D pictures - and even mini-movie clips-can be taken. Youwill also receive a CD to take home.
TBH has a new MRI. “This is the area’s largest OPEN Bore MRI, offering imaging forpatients up to 550 pounds and the greatest imaging quality in the area,” - Marc Schoen,Diagnostic Imaging Leader.
Other Benefits: • Quiet technology limits the noise• Technical adjustments for patient movements - (benefits patients with Parkinson’s, etc.)• Non-contrast testing capability• Cerebral spinal fluid test - A new test capability.• Table able to lower to 17” off the ground• Faster scanning with high-quality images• Feet first exams allowing patient heads
outside the bore over 70% of the time.
Beginning in January, 2011,The Bellevue Hospital is pleased to announceour Digital Mammography Unit will be installed and available for our

Is it a
Cold or the
Flu?ColdFlu?Flu and the common cold are both
respiratory illnesses, but they are caused bydifferent viruses.
Flu and the common cold have similarsymptoms (e.g. fever, sore throat). It can bedifficult to tell the difference between them.Your doctor can give you a flu test within thefirst few days of your illness to determinewhether you have the flu. In general, the fluis worse than the common cold.
Symptoms such as fever, body aches, extreme tiredness, and dry cough are morecommon and intense with the flu. Colds areusually milder than the flu. People with coldsare more likely to have a runny or stuffynose. Colds generally do not result in serioushealth problems, such as pneumonia, bacterial infections, or hospitalizations.
