Officer of Americo Manufacturing Company. Shutzberg joined
Americo in February, 2000 as its Chief Financial Officer and was
appointed to the CEO position inNovember of that year. He has
more than 30 years of experience in managing and operating
businessesinavarietyofindustries.
Leonard receivedhisBSBAdegreegraduating cum-laude fromThe
OhioStateUniversityin1982withadoublemajorinAccountingand
ComputerInformationSciences. Hebeganhiscareerasanauditor
with Touche Ross in Dallas, TX and passed the CPA exam the
followingyear.In1983,heandarelativemovedtoAtlantatostart
an entertainment consulting company. The firm managed rock
bandsandworkedinconcertpromotionswithsomeofthebiggest
namesintheindustry.JustafewofthebandsthatLeonardworked
with included: ZZTop, Journey, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, AC/DC,
Aerosmith,BryanAdams,GarthBrooks,Rush,RodStewart,Kansas
andEltonJohn.
Mr. Shutzberg left theentertainmentbusiness in1990 toaccepta
position as Chief Financial Officer for The Software Factory, in
Atlanta,GA.ItwasatthiscompanythatLeonardbegantodevelop
hisexpertise inthemanufacturingindustrywhereheimplemented
bills of materials and standard cost systems, ultimately, achieving
netincomeincreasesover25%.

In 1993, Leonard accepted a CFO/COO position with LABS, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of
horticultural supplies,wherehe spent thenext sevenyearsmanagingandgrowing thebusiness from
$3.5M/yearinannualsalestojustover$22M/yearwhenheleftthecompanyinFebruary,2000tojoin
AmericoManufacturingCompany.
When Shutzberg started with Americo, based in Acworth, Georgia, the business was losing money,
overdrawn on their line of credit and headed towards bankruptcy. Over the first eighteenmonths,
Shutzbergandhis teamturned thebusinessaround, initiatedapositivebanking relationshipwith the
organization and began turning a profit in 2002. Over the past decade, Americo has acquired six
differentcompaniesandbuiltasecondfactoryinCartersville,Georgia,justminutesfromtheircorporate
headquarters. Americoisnowoneoftheleadingmanufacturersofhighloft,textilenonwovensinthe
world,maintainingeithera1stor2ndpositioninthemarketstheycompeteglobally.Theirproductsare
sold in over 70 countries worldwide; annual sales volume has quadrupled since Leonard joined the
companyin2000.
Shutzberg ismarriedtoMarianneRonesShutzberg,aCharteredFinancialAnalystandbondtrader for
oneofthetopinvestmentcounselingfirmsinGeorgia.Marianne’sfather,JamesRones,beganAmerico
ManufacturingCompanyin1969.LennyandMariannehavethreechildren.
