Teaching with BOPPPS
"... the BOPPPS model is a way of organizing lesson plans to ensure that
your workshops engage learners… that they are relevant, support lifelong
learning and what might be called ‘learning transfer’. The BOPPS
components are very useful in designing and delivering lessons. When all
of these components are considered, instructors can be creative in how
they order the components and, in some cases, combine them...“

Teaching roles in:
• Lifelong learning
• Situated ‘cognition’ & teaching
• Community of practice
• Health library as electronic ‘petting zoo’
• Assessment & planning

Conflict has some value
AND constructive if: •It opens up lines of communication
•Gets conflict out in the open
•Builds team cohesion among library staff
•Causes reassessment of procedures & policies
•May promote positive attitude & behaviours
•Increases ‘buy in’ or improves library services

But conflict can be …
Destructive if:
• Relationships are damaged• Team spirit suffers• Energies are sapped away from mission• Differences in values among library staff are deepened• Cooperation is reduced• Morale sinks• Self-efficacy is reduced
