development2. Information as a constraint to

Quality issue 1: availability
No national databases available with ‘cleaned’ data / indicators- Some scattered data from Stats Offices / Ministry of Agri-
Livestock- Reports (regular?)
Some international databases with selected data / indicators- FAOSTAT / CountryStat (prod / cons. / trade)- WAHID (Oie) (health / disease)- World Bank (productivity)- GLiPHA (production / health) - ... ... ...

Quality issue 2: comparability
HH vs farm vs livestock data- e.g. household surveys vs administrative / monitoring
records
HH vs district vs regional vs national data- e.g. household surveys vs CountryStat
HHs at different points in value chains - e.g. farmers may be traders may be retailers may be vets may be fertilizer sellers may be… farmers…. and consumers
Quality as a variableAnnual vs quarterly vs monthly vs weekly data

• Expansion of Data Sources• Intermediaries and other non-formal (trade related) sources
• Participatory methods
• Other Novel and other non-conventional methods
• Bridge Gap/disconnect between National Bureau of Stats and Agriculture/Livestock Depts
