LUNAR Progress• Established a professionally-designed website: http://lunar.colorado.edu/. • Conducted first LUNAR Steering Committee meeting in the Spring in
Boulder. Agenda & presentations are on the website.• All subcontracts to LUNAR partner institutions from Colorado have now
been executed.• Completed re-modeled office suite for LUNAR at Colorado (CU cost-share).• Purchased & extensively tested videoconferencing system.• E/PO underway including design of new Planetarium programs.• Soliciting small grant proposals for Other Astrophysics (see Hallman poster
at Lunar Science Forum).• New hires include:
– Administrative Assistant at Colorado– 1st LUNAR postdoctoral fellow (to begin Oct. 15) and advertisement for another
postdoc at NRL.– New graduate student research assistant (funded by CU cost-share).– Two new undergraduate students hired for laboratory work at Colorado.– Active recruitment for additional students at LUNAR partner institutions.
• Submitted 6 white papers to Astro2010 Decadal Survey.• Presented invited talk at astrophysics conference at U. Wisconsin in June
on LUNAR research “Prospects for Probing Feedback from the First Black Holes & Stars During Reionization”.
