Making and receiving external calls If you have been enabled for Enterprise Voice in Skype for Business you will now have the Skype functionality to make and receive external calls. This guide covers: • how to make external calls • how to receive external calls
How to make an external call
This section covers two different ways of dialling an external number, such as mobile, landline or international number
1. In your Skype window, click on Find someone or
dial a number
2. Type in the number using your keyboard and press enter

1. In your Skype window, select the Phone tab

2. Use the dial pad to tap in the number and Call

The following dialog box will
appear showing the call is being
connected
Once the caller answers the call, the calling dialog
will change to show the call
duration
Select Show Participants to
view the numbers of those in the call
Add more people using Invite more people; find them
in Skype or dial external numbers
Press Hold to place the call on
hold and then Resume Call to return to the
caller
The network symbol will go red
if there are any network problems
that may affect the call quality
Adjust the call volume
Mute and unmute
End the call

How to accept an external call
Accepting an external call from a mobile or landline is very like accepting a Skype internal call
1. When you receive an external call the dialog box will appear on the bottom left-hand side of your screen
2. When you hover on the blue area Accept will appear to take the call
3. If you cannot take the call, select

4. You will have the option of either
sending the call to voicemail; calls
automatically go to voicemail after 20
seconds of ringing

5. Or you can change your status to
Do not Disturb; further calls and
messages will not disturb you but you
will receive notifications informing
you what you have missed
6. You can also choose Ignore; calls
automatically go to voicemail after 20
seconds of ringing
