Rub elbows with the individuals whoprepare comments to public officials, planthe wonderful outings program anddesign and carry out our conservationcampaigns.

We will honor not only our ownmost active members for 2002, but recog-nize those in the community who haveworked for the preservation of the countyin the public sector. In the past we've hon-ored elected officials, professional jour-nalists, eco-friendly businesses, studentconservationists and grassroots activists.If you admire someone in the chapter orcommunity and would like to see themrecognized, submit their name and a brief description of their accomplishments tothe chapter office before March 10th.

This year's event will be heldFriday, April 4th at the TierraSantaRecreation Center , 11238 ClairemontMesa Blvd. from 6 to 9 pm.

Please bring a favorite dish forthe potluck dinner starting at 6 pm. Thechapter will provide water, coffee, tea and

 juice. Please bring your own non-dispos-able plate and utensils to limit unneces-sary waste.

Entertainment will be provided by the eleven-member youth band of Bird Singers from the Campo IndianReservation led by Paul Cuero. Theirchanting rhythms promise to slip youinto a long forgotten world and stir upvisions of the distant past.

After the awards are presented,we will have a brief slide show

A requested donation of $4.00will be collected at the door from friendsand visitors to defray our costs.

Directions: Take Clairemont Mesa Blvd.east from I-15. At one mile you crossthrough Santo Road. Continue anothermile to the Tierrasanta Recreation Centerentrance on the left (this is not a lightedintersection, so watch for the sign). Theceremony will be on the ground floor of the swimming pool building.
