20th July—28th August 2015
This schedule is broken up into 2 parts to the day. From the morning till 12H00, Inter-
national Student Teachers, will travel to schools within the community, assisting in
Math and/or Science classes. From 14H00 - 16H30, they will join the Math4Africa
programme in teaching group style Math tuition.
1st June—17 July 2015
A full day free tutoring programme as per Math4Africa. This will be the middle of the
year for SA scholars and they will have written exams on the past 6 months work.
This is as important if not more so because we can be highly effective in helping the
child gain ground on 6 months understanding of Math instead of an entire years
worth of work.
1st April—17th April 2015
This is the first session of 2015 as South African school children start their year in
January and not September like International Schools. They will have written tests
by this stage and we can anticipate any problem areas, early. We are also able to
take the mark of the pupil from the previous year in Math, and address any issues
there may have been if they had not attended the January program.
2nd November—4 December 2015
This is a very important time in the South African students year, as it’s final exams
which will determine whether they can move to a higher standard or go on to
College or University. Math4Africa tutors under a more relaxed and homely environ-
ment during this period, as students get block days, for them to study outside of
school. Tutoring is lengthy and focused in this part of the programme.
4th January - 22 January 2016
This is for the child that did not obtain a pass or is starting High School out of Primary
School. It is a preparation for the year to come and gives the SA student a head start
of his understanding of Math.
