PROGRAM SUMMARY:
• Created Exclusively For MaxOut By Mike Barwis, One
Of The World’s Leading Strength & Conditioning
Experts. Barwis is Founder of Barwis Methods
and Current Strength & Conditioning Coach
For the University of Michigan
• Integrates The MaxOut Tower Using The
Same Elements That Barwis Uses For
World Class Athletes
• Annual Program Consisting Of
3 Cycles:
– MaxPrep Cycle
(Anatomical Adaptation)– MaxMass Cycle (Hypertrophy)
– MaxStrength Cycle (Muscular
Development)
• MaxOut Clients Measured & Tested On Each Machine
• Program Guarantees Strength Gains & Results!
The Barwis Methods/MaxOut Strength Training Program is scientically designed
to be the only workout of its kind. For the rst time – the program’s creator, Mike Barwis,
is able to combine his revolutionary strength and conditioning protocols with the
revolutionary MaxOut Tower technology. Through this combination of scientic
approaches to the human anatomy, MaxOut offers “The World’s Only Once Per
Week Workout!”
The following describes the Annual Program Consisting Of Three Cycles:
1. MaxPrep Cycle (10 Weeks)
The MaxPrep cycle prepares your body for the rigors of strength training at MaxOut.
Throughout this Ten Week cycle, sometimes referred to as “Anatomical Adaptation”, the
focus is on providing support to muscles and bones by strengthening the ligaments and
tendons that are at the core of musculoskeletal health. This provides the baseline of strengt
needed to progress through the challenging, yet rewarding strength training cycles that are
yet to come!
2. MaxMass Cycle (6 Weeks)
Once you complete the MaxPrep cycle, you will be transitioned into the more intense phase
called the “MaxMass Cycle”, or “Hypertrophy Cycle.” This Six Week cycle will target your
muscles to maximize the growth of new muscle bers. This growth can be accomplished in
this compressed time period thanks in part to the MaxOut Tower technology. The MaxOut
Tower is the key to allowing for the overloading of weight to the muscle during the Eccentric
(down) portion of the repetition. This Eccentric overload causes Hypertrophy which is
necessary for long term muscle growth and development.
3. MaxStrength Cycle (8 Weeks)
The focus in the nal cycle, known as the “Max-Strength Cycle,” is leveraging results from
the rst two cycles to advance to the next level of muscular development and performance.
During this Eight Week cycle, your muscles are taught how to properly recruit all the new
muscle bers that were created during the MaxMass Cycle (Hypertrophy Cycle) – providing
you with maximum muscle strength!

ROYERSFORD, PA, October 1, 2010 – Based on
the success o its initial MaxOut Strength Studio
(Limerick, PA) that integrates proprietary ftness
technology and programming allowing or once per
week workouts, MaxOut, LLC (Royersord, PA) has
announced the launch o two operating units: MaxOut
Strength Studios and MaxOut Strength Systems.
Both entities eature the company’s “MaxOut
Tower” equipment which was created by well known
University o Florida orthopedic surgeon and author,
Dr. Michael Mac Millan.
MaxOut Strength Studios are stand-alone ftness
centers eaturing a proprietary, counter weight tower
(“MaxOut Tower”) that integrates with traditional
exercise machines and enables weight variationsor both the down (eccentric) and up (concentric)
portion o every repetition. MaxOut Strength
Systems provides high school, collegiate and
proessional strength and conditioning programs
with counter weight towers that are integrated with
existing equipment – dramatically improving their
eectiveness.
“We are excited to announce the launch o both
MaxOut Strength Studios and MaxOut Strength
Systems,” said David Schaer, President o MaxOut,
LLC. “Through our proprietary MaxOut Tower
technology and associated once per week workout,we have shattered the longstanding notion that
natural and long lasting ftness gains require
countless hours in the gym.”
The MaxOut Tower was developed by University o
Florida orthopedic surgeon and author, Dr. Michael
Mac Millan. Through years o research, Dr. Mac Millan
determined Wol¹s Law was absolutely applicable
to muscle development. Dr. Mac Millan illustrated
that muscles, like bones, react to external orces and
will add strength to equal those orces over time. I a
subject only lits weights, he or she will only introduce
weights (orces) to the body that he or she can lit.
By utilizing the MaxOut Tower, the subject now can
resist a greater weight during the eccentric phase
(the down) and then lit a lighter weight during the up
(concentric phase). The body then reacts and equals
those greater orces thereby producing extraordinary
gains in ar less time.
Although it’s early in the game or MaxOut, word
about the company is quickly spreading and industry
experts are connecting with the company.
“With over 15 years o experience providing
perormance training to some o the world’s leading
college and proessional athletes, I was immediately
impressed with the MaxOut Tower technology, saidMike Barwis, Director o Strength & Conditioning or
the University o Michigan and President o Barwis
Methods. “This new technology allows or more
efcient strength and perormance gains and I am
excited to be part o their frst installation and to also
play a role as a Director and ongoing advisor to the
company.”

LIMERICK — It’s like a dream come true or the time-
crunched gym reugee.
Show up once a week, grunt your way through an hour o
very heavy liting and you’re done.
Add an iron-clad guarantee on top o all that serious iron
pumping, and you’ve got MaxOut, an innovative approach
to tness.
Dave Shaer is excited about opening the fagship acility
with the take-no-prisoners name, along with partners
Matt Cubbler, Jason Griggs and Scott Samuelson, and
doesn’t stop short o claiming he and his buddies are
revolutionizing the world o tness.
“We’re the only business in the world-wide tness
industry that guarantees results in one hour, once a week,”
Shaer said, as strength coaches put members through
their paces in the no rills, no- mirrors, all business
workout room.
The barebones vibe is low-key, but intensely ocused.
“Here in Limerick Square Shopping Center is not a
traditional place where something extraordinary is birthed,
but here begins something absolutely extraordinary. Just
because you have two schmoes rom Royersord who are
putting this together doesn’t make it any less amazing.”
At the core o the MaxOut approach to building muscle
is the MaxOut Tower, invented a couple o decades ago
at the University o Florida by Dr. Michael MacMillan, who
created a prototype based on technology developed
through more than 10 years o research.

“Macmillan was eventually able to get the patent away rom the University
and start MaxOut with three other men in Florida,” noted Cubbler, a policeocer with the Collegeville Police Department. “He wanted to get back
to the research and he couldn’t get any grants because o his corporate
holdings in the company, so Dave and I bought him out.”
Through some ortuitous timing, Shaer happened to be working in Florida
or a company owned by one o the MaxOut guys when he stumbled onto
the MaxOut know-how and quickly alerted his boyhood buddy.
“He called me and said, ‘you have to come down here and see this thing,’”
recalled Cubbler, who was equally foored by the brawniness o the
MaxOut Tower.
“We bought them out, closed everything down in Florida, moved it up here,
re-branded as MaxOutLLC, and we’re now headquartered in Royersord,”
he said. “That’s when we ound out that we had an invention that we really
didn’t know all its true capabilities.”
Enter Mike Barwis, ounder o BarwisMethods and head strength and
conditioning coach at the University o Michigan.
“He is considered one o the greatest strength coaches in the world, and
through a stroke o luck we brought him in,” Shaer said. “He can see
science and mathematics the way nobody else in the world can. He can
make paralyzed people walk and take people with brain injuries and x
them, through strength training.
“He created or us the utilization o the Tower in its proper way. Combiningthis new device and a scientically gited mind, we’re able to produce a
once-a-week workout with a guaranteed result.”
Like a World’s Strongest Man contender pulling a 20-ton re truck down
Main Street, the liter presses on, unmindul o weights, reps and sets, or
anything other than the task at hand.
All careully calibrated eorts are tracked by a strength coach.
The MaxOut Tower works meticulously in tandem with conventional
exercise machines, Cubbler explained.
“By itsel, the Tower is worthless; it has to be attached to an existing
exercise machine. With the programs created by Mike Barwis, we now
recognize that we have a very unique apparatus.”
Open just a ew weeks, the anti-gym, as it were, is slowly attracting
converts to this unusual no-contract workout regimen, where each session
is $29.95, in addition to $20 monthly dues.
“We made it aordable, and it’s upscale, but it’s certainly not a gym,”
Shaer said. “It’s the antithesis o a gym - a comortable environment where
you come in and get your weekly does o strength training. Look at the
gyms out there that have been around or years that account or about 13
to 15 percent o Americans who go to gyms. The 85 percent o people
who are not enthused about going to gyms say they don’t go because
o lack o time. Traditional exercise is to go several times a week and be
consistent over a period o time to see results. For most people, that’s just
not easible.”
MaxOut shrivels those excuses as it bees up both muscle and motivation
by overloading the whole push-and-pull master plan.
“We produce a guaranteed physical tness game by working out only
one hour a week, with a device that really atigues the muscle when used
appropriately,” Shaer said. “We have workouts or men, women, seniors,
designed by the world’s greatest strength conditioning expert.
“My ather is 66 and in coming here lost 20 pounds, but more than that,
“he added, “his blood pressure and blood sugar went down to normal
levels, and he improved his health signicantly. The only thing he did
dierently was coming to MaxOut.”
Another member rehabbed her way back to fexibility and avoided knee
replacement, Cubbler noted.
The men are understandably pumped about going nationwide with their
high-tech, high-perormance gym alternative.
“We can give guaranteed results or anyone,” Shaer said. “Give me a guy
who’s never done any exercise in his entire lie and I will produce a tness
game or him where he will succeed.”

LIMERICK — Whether you’ve allen o the ftness wagon
or are an exercise bu looking or the best new thing, the
people at MaxOut Strength Studio say things will shape
up or you within our hours o working out with them.
Guaranteed.
“The business’ greatest challenge is being able to explain
or justiy some o our extraordinarily unique and boastul
claims, which is guaranteed strength gains by only
working out once a week,” said co-owner and operator
David Shaer. “We are quite dierent than anything else in
the world as ar as strength development goes.”
Shaer and partners Jason Griggs and Matt Cubbler
opened MaxOut in the Limerick Square Shopping Center,
Buckwalter Road, in February. Their claim to ame isguaranteeing a noticeable change in strength and body
appearance in just our one-hour sessions o strength
training at MaxOut.
“We shatter the notion that in order to get results ... you
have to spend hours in the weight room,” said Shaer, an
entrepreneur. But that one-hour workout, according to
Shaer, wasn’t the intended goal when the business got
o the ground.
“You don’t do a lot o reps on our machines, but you
get to a point o muscle ailure, and you’re body needs
between fve to seven days to recuperate to be able tohandle that again,” Shaer explained. “We’re not coming to
market trying to wedge in, ‘Hey, you know what would be
kind o neat? Let’s oer a once-a-week workout.’ That was
just a convenient byproduct ... You would do your body
harm i you tried to do this more than once a week.”
What stands behind MaxOut is science, Shaer, Cubbler
and Griggs concurred.
“This equipment (used by clients at MaxOut) was
designed scientifcally,” Shaer said. “This story isn’t about
a big musclehead, this came out rom a guy wearing a
white lab jacket.”
“This was invented 20 years ago at the University o
Florida,” Cubbler said o the science behind MaxOut.
Specifcally, Dr. Michael MacMillian, an orthopedicsurgeon among other things, worked on the methodology
behind MaxOut’s technology. The exercises a client
completes are a combination o eccentric and concentric
exercises, Cubbler said.
Back to the question a lot o people ask: How does
exercising once a week at MaxOut get more results than
doing several hours o other exercises each week?
“Three three basic things are incorporated into what we
do here,” Shaer said. “We’re utilizing eccentric strength
training, what that means is doing negatives; we’re
overloading the muscles ... Also, traditional strengthtraining and a combination” o the two.
“In the business o strength training ... the defnition o
achieving results is equal to the degree you can atigue
the muscles and then give the body ample time to rest.
How we can get away with only having our client work out
once a week is because this workout will provide such a
atigue that it’s all any body can handle.”
Those who beneft rom the MaxOut workout, according
to the partners, range rom proessional athletes to stay-
at-home moms. Shaer said while it might seem that the
ideal MaxOut customer would “be someone who is reallyinto liting weights or getting big or strong, because when
you think ‘Strength studio’ everybody jumps to muscles.
“But really, the ideal customer or us is someone who
wants to achieve, someone who wants to get stu done.
We’re looking or people who want success.”
When a potential client comes through the door, he
or she is greeted with the opportunity to engage in a
customized workout that will produce optimal results or
their specifc body, the partners said. Clients are not given
time to stand around, contemplate what exercise they will
do next, or stare in the mirror like they might at traditional

gyms. In the MaxOut strength studio there are no mirrors and every client
has a strength coach who is there to usher them along.
“You get a strength coach every time you come here,” Cubbler said. “Whenyou walk in you don’t have to think, just bring your eort and your attitude.”
Shaer said there was consideration over changing the name rom MaxOut
to something a little less aggressive so that it wouldn’t push anyone away.
But ater thinking about it, “really, strength is physical health,” he said.
“Anatomically speaking, this is the best thing you can do or your body,”
Cubbler added.
That goes or men and women.
Cubbler explained that women do not have the natural testosterone or
their muslces to bulk up the way a man’s might. The science behind
MaxOut means men who use the program look more like men, and women
like women, he said.
“I not hal, 40 percent o our clients are women,” Cubbler said.
And MaxOut isn’t just or young adults or people under 50.
“Seniors are concerned with physical independence,” Shaer said. “We
hear rom our clients that MaxOut does exactly that.”
Griggs, a real estate developer and entrepreneur, said he had back surgery
our years ago. Since then he experienced severe back pain or which hewas taking medication.
“I have been able to ween mysel o the medication and I’m stronger than
ever” since starting MaxOut workouts, Griggs said.
Cubbler, a Collegeville police ofcer, has had joint issues or years. He said
when he frst tried the MaxOut workout, “nothing hurt” and since then he’s
not experienced any pain in his joints.
The olks at MaxOut say their clients are guaranteed to see results. They’ll

There are several monthly MaxOut plans available. MaxOut or Athletes is
$175 per month; MaxOut or Men or Women is $150 per month; MaxOut
or High School students is $125 per month; and MaxOut or Seniors is
$115 per month. There is also a consultation ee o $35.
Everyone who gives MaxOut a shot is guaranteed to see results, the
partners said.
“Within a month you’re going to see a noticeable dierence about your
body,” Cubbler said. “Depending on what phase o ftness you came in at,
i you came in completely out o shape, haven’t worked out in 10 years,
versus the guy that’s already got a well-defned body or the girl who’s got a
well-defned body, either one is going to see a result.
