Nitrile GlovesTrust our nitrile gloves for strength with a soft touch

increase the softness while maintaining excellent chemical resistance and
barrier protection. Our nitrile gloves are now more comfortable to wear, and
new manufacturing methods have made them more affordable.

Nitrile
Proven Chemical ResistanceNitrile gloves are stronger and possess greater chemical resistance than both latex and vinyl gloves. They are generally recommended for use in areas that may involve higher levels of stress on exam gloves (e.g., ER and trauma units) or areas that deal with harsh chemicals or liquid immersion (e.g., Lab, Oncology, Environmental Services, Endoscopy, and Pharmacy).
SensiCare Ice® powder-free nitrileProvides great sensitivity and dependable protection. Chemo-tested.
We know that latex allergies are on the rise and that you’re looking for latex glove alternatives to protect both patients and staff. Nitrile gloves are a popular option, but they still have shortcomings. Though they’re known for offering the same great protection in high-risk and high-stress environments, nitrile gloves tend to be stiff and uncomfortable.
With Medline’s new SensiCare Ice examination glove, you can fi nally have it all – the comfort of latex in a nitrile glove. This glove can be used facility-wide, from the ICU all the way to phlebotomy.
Sensitivity and peace of mind… the SensiCare Ice from Medline.

Medline vinyl synthetic gloves: all-around performance made better by technologyAdvances in vinyl synthetic glove technology have enabled Medline to make signifi cant improvements in the features that matter most to you: strength, elongation, tactile sensitivity, and comfort. Our third-generation vinyl synthetic gloves are nothing like the vinyl synthetic gloves of a few years ago, thanks to advanced-formulation polymers.
Ideal for Latex-Free EnvironmentsToday’s improved vinyl synthetic gloves are a cost-effective, latex-free alternative well suited to the majority of clinical applications. Except for a few instances that call for specialty gloves (e.g., chemotherapy gloves in Oncology), stretch vinyl gloves are an excellent choice for economical latex-free barrier protection.
Three Generations... What’s the Difference?• First: traditional vinyl material containing PVC resin
and plasticisers.• Second: stretch vinyl material with softer PVC resins
for better fi t, feel, and performance. • Third: stretch vinyl material containing ultra-high
molecular-weight resins and special softening and strengthening agents; offers strength, comfort, and barrier protection other vinyl gloves cannot.
Comparing performance: These charts show how tensile strength and elongation improve with each successive generation.

Bringing Stretch and Fit to a Powder-Free Vinyl Exam Glove
• 100% Latex-Free• Odour Free• Accelerator Free• Tapered Cuff• Powder-Free• Non-sterile
We have advanced the technology of stretch synthetic exam gloves. The result is a glove formulation that delivers softness with outstanding strength and durability. The resin in the Curad 3G glove has much longer polymer chains than other synthetic gloves on the market today. The longer polymer chains make the resin MORE workable, MORE fl exible, and MORE resilient.

Gloves by Department
Emergency RoomExam gloves selected for use in the Emergency Department should provide protection against bloodborne pathogens and be strong enough to withstand the rigours of the tasks performed. Nitrile gloves are the recommended choices for high-stress activities. High-performance third-generation vinyl gloves can be used as a complement for routine patient care.
Durable gloves that can be used for all procedures Powder-free nitrile or powder-free latex
Special Requirements Recommended Glove Type
Labor and DeliveryLabor and Delivery generally prefer to use latex-free gloves to avoid any potential latex allergy issues with newborns. Sterile gloves are encouraged for actual deliveries, which may require more invasive procedures. Medline offers both stretch vinyl and nitrile sterile glove options.
Latex-free Powder-free nitrile or 3rd-generation stretch vinyl
Special Requirements Recommended Glove Type
LaboratoryLaboratory clinicians have a variety of glove needs. Some technicians deal with harsh chemicals and require higher chemical resistance, while others have greater grip requirements and need a glove that will perform well in both wet and dry situations. All clinicians require comfortable, high-performing gloves. Those who deal with harsh chemicals should use nitrile gloves, but latex and third-generation high-performing vinyl gloves are appropriate for all other functions.

Critical and Noncritical Care UnitsUnits such as Intensive Care, Med-Surg, Radiology, Respiratory, and Physiotherapy perform procedures that do not generally place signifi cant levels of stress on examination gloves. Facilities have greater fl exibility in selecting an exam glove for these areas. Powder-free nitrile, powder-free latex, and second- or third-generation stretch vinyl gloves are all excellent choices.

Chemical Resistance and Barrier Guide
Viral PenetrationThe viral penetration test determines if a glove provides an effective barrier against one of the smallest measurable viruses in the world, phi-X174. If the glove is a barrier to the phi-X174 virus, it also provides a barrier against larger viruses.
All of Medline’s exam gloves have passed the viral penetration test.
