MEET THE TUTOR EVENT
Wednesday 17th June 2020
• In lessons, you’ll be able to mix with other friends from your primary and make new ones.
• You’ll get your timetable on your first day.
• On the first 2 days you will be with your form group getting to know the school.
• After that form period is the first 20 minutes of every day.

The School Day
• A warning bell rings at 8.40am.• You must be in your tutor room before the second bell sounds at 8.45am.
• The morning register will be taken at 8.45am.• One morning per week you will have assembly in the Main Hall.
• Form time activities include: quizzes, themed learning and reviews of effort / attendance data, as well as CFPs / CFCs.

• Black tailored trousers or black, knee length skirt with the Wickersley Partnership Trust logo displayed on the upper part of the leg.
• White shirt and clip on school tie• Black V neck jumper or cardigan with school logo and Wickersley Partnership Trust logo
displayed on the sleeve.

• Make-up should be discreet and minimal: no false eye lashes or false nails.• Extreme haircuts are not allowed. • Jewellery must be kept to a minimum; no more than one small earring, sleeper or stud in
each ear. Facial piercings are not allowed on school site.• Gold, silver and bronze award pin badges should be worn as part of school uniform.

Your account for purchasing food in the cafeteria will be set up in September.
New Y7 students will go to lunch 10 minutes early to begin with.
The Canteen
Letters will be going out before September with your Parent Pay login details. This is what you’ll use to top-up
your child’s account for food at break times.

You’ll be expected to present your equipment to your form tutor each morning.
• During KS3 D&T ask for a voluntary contribution towards resources which supports the
department in being able to provide everything for students for the year.
• This will mean students aren’t asked to bring in their own ingredients for food or their own wood, fabric or other components to make
products.
• This will appear on your parent pay ready for September. It is usually around £10 for the year but can vary each year depending on changes to
the curriculum.
Design & Technology
An apron is to be worn in D&T as part of health and safety. These can be provided
or students can bring their own.
• All students will have an account set up in September.• They can access resources at home.
• Most homework will be set on SAM Learning.

Mobile Phones
Phones are allowed when:
• Teachers have given permission to use them as a learning tool
• At break times but only in form rooms
• For recording homework
If your phone is visible on corridors or during lesson time without permission, your phone will be confiscated until the end of the
school day, your name logged and you will be in detention.
We operate a ‘same day’ detention system so that all instances of unacceptable behaviour are dealt with promptly.
