Meet your Form Tutor
Welcome to FBA!
Each slide has a picture of your Form Tutors and a few interesting facts
about each one.
We hope this gives you a chance to get to know the Year Group Team a
little bit better.
Mrs Swindale 7F
I am a Maths teacher.
I also teach Statistics to upper school.
I love Maths, and my aim to make you
love it too!
In September it will be my third year at Frances Bardsley. I have been a teacher for 15 years.
I live with my husband
and 6 year old girl.
I like wearing
colourful socks!
And my
cat called
Coco
I enjoy a variety of hobbies.
Mrs Ward 7B
My favourite animal is a giraffe,
as I think they are huge
fascinating creatures
I teach Science (but I specialise in Biology).
My favourite colour is red.
In my free time I like to read, watch tv (anything David
Attenborough) spend time with family/ friends and travel,
especially to other countries.
However, my favourite thing to do is learn something new”.
Miss Martin-Williams 7E
When I am not at school, I like to
spend my time travelling around
the globe and taking photos.
I much prefer summer to winter and enjoy
spending a lot of time outside, mainly walking,
hiking climbing mountains etc
Finally, I enjoy most sport...
with the exception of Cross
Country.
This is my second year at FBA and I teach Religious Studies.
Miss Wren 7L
I teach Geography
One of my main hobbies is playing netball
as I am part of a team who play once a
week during the summer and winter
season.
I also enjoy visiting the coast when the
weather is good. My favourite coastal
locations are Lulworth Cove and Durdle
Door in Dorset, along the south coast
To relax, I like listening to music and
spending time with the family dog,
whose name is Fidji.
Miss Venis 7O
I've worked at Bardsley Academy for four years. I'm Head of the Media
Studies department and I'm also an English teacher.
I've been a teacher for sixteen years now.
I love animals:
I have three cats- Jessie,
Jimi and Uma.
I'm an avid film fan (in
particular, horror movies).
I also really enjoy listening to music
and I have quite a varied taste in
music genres!
Miss Gaskin 7R
I teach Biology
I can spend all day talking about my pet
dogs but my favourite animal is an orca!
I'm not one for sports but I am very
competitive, especially when there is a
quiz.
I also enjoy other subjects including
Chemistry and Maths.
I am a person who
loves cooking, talking
about food
and competitive food
shows such as
Masterchef.
Miss Warrier 7SI enjoy amateur drama though it is best if I don't sing in
public.
My favourite animal is a horse but dogs are a close second."
I am an English teacher and so I naturally love all geeky discussions
about fantasy and mystery novels.
Travelling is a passion of mine and I particularly
like trying all the different international cuisines.
Miss Knier 7W
I am Miss Knier and teach maths at FBA.
I have a passion for playing musical instruments.
These include Flute and Oboe, so let me know if you play
any – bonus points if you know what an oboe is!
I have a gorgeous 3-legged cat who loves to
climb, even though he needs rescuing sometimes.
A final fact: I have moved down to
Essex from the North-west of
England.
I love swimming in the Lake district
up there.

Tutor face-to-face and also to make friends with the students in your form.
We would like to ask you to write a short paragraph about yourself please.
