PDXWildlife 2011-presentDirectorofnon-profitthatfocusesonconservingspeciesandhabitatsbyproducinginnovative,high-qualityresearchandeducatingcommunitiesabouttheirnaturalresources.Havedevelopedamenu-markingprograminPortlandthatrecruitsrestaurantstomarksustainableseafooditemsandresearchestheeffectivenessofmenumarkingonconsumerchoice.Managedanddevelopedinternationalgiantpandaprogramstudyingmatepreferenceandreproductivesuccess.

USFWIntern April2014-April2015Developedandlauncheda"musselacademy"formiddleandhighschoolstudentsinthegreaterPortlandareatoteachstudentsaboutthebiologyoffreshwatermusselsandthesignificanceoftheirroleintheecosystem.DevelopedanddraftedtheOregonconservationstrategyplanforfreshwatermussels.Requirednetworkingwithotherenvironmentaleducators,teachersandnaturalresourcemanagerssuchasfederalagencies,stateagencies,localgovernment,non-governmentorganizations,tribesandprojectstakeholdersinvolvedinfreshwatermusselconservationinOregon.

OregonZoo&SanDiegoZooGiantPandaBehavioralResearch 2011-April2014ConductedmatepreferencestudiesinYa’an,Chinaongiantpandas.Includedhormonal,acoustic,andbehavioralanalysis.

OregonZooRadioimmunoassayTechnician,Dr.MitchFinnegan 2006-2010ConductedweeklyprogesteroneandtestosteronehormoneassayrunstopredictovulationinfemaleAsianelephantsforbreedingintroductions.UnitedStatesForestServiceWildlifeBiologicalTechnician,SharonHernandez 2006ConductedwildlifehabitatsurveysandrarebirdpopulationsurveysintheMt.HoodNationalForest.
