Cyclopropanation reactionsO 0138 Michael Addition Reactions of Grignard Reagents to 2-Halogenoacrylates: A
Convenient Method for the Synthesis of Polysubstituted Cyclopropane Com-pounds. — Grignard reagents or organolithium reagents react with 2-haloacrylates (I) to yield cyclopropane 1,2-diesters directly. The transformation proceeds through Michael addition of the organometal reagent to the haloacrylate followed by a second Michael addition of the resulting activated halocarboxylate to another haloacrylate. — (CHEN, C.; XI*, C.; JIANG, Y.; HONG, X.; Tetrahedron Lett. 45 (2004) 31, 6067-6069; Dep.
