March/ April 2015
2015 is a monumental year for Vetter Health Services as we are celebrating 40 years of “family serving
family”. Jack and Eldora Vetter began their mission giving elderly folks in their community a safe and
comfortable place to call home in 1975 with the purchase of their first facility. It was then that they be-
gan to instill the philosophy of “dignity in life” into each and every one of their care facilities through
their vision and values. Today, those same values are carried out by over 3,000 team members across 5
states in 31 communities. It is evident that this legacy built on relationship
building and 40 years of experience changes everything we once believe to
be true about long term care. Jack and Eldora have truly created an environ-
ment for mom and dad to grow old filled with love, compassion, and respect.
Over the next year we will be celebrat- ing this significant time in our facilities.
Papillion Manor is kicking off the fes- tivities at their annual fish fry held for
residents and their families along with team members and their families. Each
quarter we will incorporate a theme of four very distinct decades. At the fish
fry things will get funky while we travel back to the 70’s. Think tie-dye and bell
bottoms! “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet” by Bachman Turner Overdrive is first
quarter’s theme song. Additional theme songs will be communicated throughout the year.
Don’t be surprised if you see stirrup pants, acid– washed jeans, and leg warmers beginning in April
throughout Vetter communities while representing the 80’s. The look wouldn’t be complete without big
hair! Overall jeans, crimped hair and butterfly clips, along with puka shell necklaces will be hot items
thanks to boy bands and grunge music in July when we take it back to the totally hip 90’s. Brands like
Ralph Lauren and Polo help complete the 90’s look. Celebrations will conclude October– December in
the era of 2000 and beyond. “The look” of this decade included items like distressed hip-hugger jeans,
trucker hats, crocs, and big silver hoop earrings.

Our annual fish fry for residents, their families, and employees
will be held Friday March 27th. At this event help us kick off
Vetter Health Services 40th year anniversary! We are taking it
WAY BACK to the totally fab 70’s! Dress in your freshest tie
dye or 70’s wear.
Supper will include an assortment of fried and baked fish, macaro-
ni and cheese, hush puppies, and dessert bars.
FAR OUT MAN!
In order to provide our residents and their families a groovy din-
ing experience we will serve our fish fry restaurant—style. Our
hosts will be situated in the front lobby near the reception desk
to help you find your seating arrangements.
Invitations will be given to residents, and sent out in the mail to
members of their family. If you did not receive an invitation and
plan to attend please contact Lissa at (402) 339-7700 to make a
reservation. Please indicate the time that you would prefer to
dine and the number of cats attending that do not reside at the
Papillion Manor community.
So we may serve each of our residents and their families in a
timely manner, and ensure a SWINGIN’ time. Please continue con-
versations and fun in any of the commons areas after dining.
Catch you on the flipside!

Testimonial by Jay H.
“In operating your facility on a daily basis, you are clearly aware of the quality
of every significant aspect of its daily operation; including the expertise of your medi-
cal care providers, the cleanliness of the facility, and the quality of the food prepara-
tion. I could write extensively about each of these topics, and tell you what an out-
standing job you are doing in these areas, but this would not be news to any of you.
Those aspects of your facility are easily measured with objective standards. However,
I may be able to bring a more subjective perspective to an equally important area of
your facility’s operation’s; one that is unmistakably vital to your mission and yet, dif-
ficult to measure to any kind of hard data: compassion.
I spent a minimum of 10 hours per day at your facility. In that regard, I consid-
er myself somewhat of an “expert” on what it’s like to have someone dear to you stay-
ing at Papillion Manor. I met so many of you staff; either in passing or as regular
caregivers to my mother. Without exception, everyone on your staff consistently dis-
played positivity and an enthusiasm for their work. The compassion I have referred to
was evident, not just in words or deeds, but in the eyes of each staff member with
whom we had contact. Although all of you were performing a job, each of you made
us feel like we were part of the Papillion Manor “family.” You have no idea how
comforting all of this was to our family. You should rest assured that your mission is
being fulfilled.”
