What were the problems faced by Income in this case? How were the problem resolved by the new digital system?
PROBLEMS SOLUTIONS
Processes were very tedious and paper-based
All documents were scanned and stored on “trusted” storage devices – secured, reliable digital vaults that enabled strict compliance with stringent statutory requirements
HP 3000 always broke down and backup system could only restore the data to the version from the previous day
Switched to Java based eBou LifeSystem from eBou Technology. Comprised with three systems – Policy Administration, Sales Management and Supplementary Resources
COBOL programme also broke multiple times, halted the systems and caused temporary interruptions
Transaction processing was not available in real-time
Revamped its business continuity and disaster-recovery plans
