THREE MAIN PARTS
The body is divided in three main parts: head, torso and limbs.

BODY SYSTEMS
Our body is composed of organs. We have three different systems:
- Circulatory system
- Respiratory system
- Digestive system

CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
Circulatory system: makes up the network that delivers blood to the body in the arteries and veins. Blood gives us nutrients and oxygen.
We can differentiate the heart in four parts: left and right atriums and left and right ventricles.
![Page 5: MODIF. 1- The Human Body - blogs.paulesbarakaldo.com1. Sound waves enter through the outer ear (the most exterior part). 2. RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
People have to breathe. The respiratory system is composed of a group of organs.
We breathe in oxygen through the nose and the mouth.
The air goes down into the lungs.
We breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide.

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
As the previous systems, the organs which helps us to digest the food are called the digestive system.
The digestion starts in the mouth and it goes down into our stomach and intestine.
The intestine separates the nutrients and the waste.
The nutrients are passed to our body by the circulatory system.

BODY SENSES

SIGHT
Thanks to our eyes we can see. We can see different shapes, sizes and colors.

How do we see?
1. The light enters in the eye.
2. It goes through the pupils and goes through the lens.
3. It makes an image on the retina.
4. The retina sends the information to the brain, and this one allows the sight.

HEARING
Thanks to our ears we can hear.
The ear is composed by the outer ear, middle ear and inner ear.

How do we hear?
1. Sound waves enter through the outer ear (the most exterior part).
2. The sound goes to the eardrum (in the middle ear) and makes it
vibrate.
3. A liquid is generated in the middle ear, which sends information to
the brain (the same as in the sight).
4. The brain reads the information and allows the hearing.

SMELL
Our nose is the organ we use to smell.
1. Air enters through the nostrils.
2. The olfactory nerve sends information to our brain which allows us to smell
Olfactory nerve

TASTE
The tongue is the organ we use to taste.
Nerves send information about the different tastes.

TOUCHOur skin is the organ that allows us to touch.
Our skin tells us if something is: • soft or hard • hot or cold • rough or smooth
