Welcome Hello! My name is Mrs. Roberts This is my 6th year teaching for Corona Norco Unified School District. I’m looking forward to getting to know your child and getting this year started! Due to the new learning environment (Remote Learning) it’s important that we all work together as a team in order to help your child succeed. Remote LearningWe will begin our year in a remote learning environment.
What is remote learning?- Student-centered standards based
instruction- Graded weekly assignments in all
content areas on Google Classroom- Online interactive material- Opportunities for live meetings
through Zoom or Google Meets- Teachers utilizing different digital
platforms to enhance the online classroom experience.
What is expected of your child?- Active participation- Giving best effort in their learning- Student completed assignments
submitted on-time- Attend online meetings
Please note, unlike distance learning, remote learning is mandatory.All assignments during this time will be graded and reflected in your child’s
achievement and effort grades.

2) Go to Mycnusd portal to access i-Ready3) Click on iReady Web icon4) Your child will complete “Math” diagnostic Tuesday/Wednesday and “Reading” diagnostic Thursday/Friday of the first week. *Please do not complete both assessments in 1 sitting, we recommend limiting your child to 30 minute sessions.
*Once your child clicks “Begin Diagnostic” please do not help or guide them in finding the answer as results will be inaccurate. Please monitor to make sure they are taking their time this ensures that their future lessons and material on iReady will be at their current level. We encourage your student to use scratch paper to help them with the assessment.

ORAL PRESENTATIONSExpectations -Prepare Oral Presentation before presenting. Students should prepare an oral presentation that follows all the requirements within an assignment. They are allowed to read from a paper with notes or a draft of their presentation, while looking up at their peers/teacher for eye contact. It is OPTIONAL if students want to memorize their presentation.

Accelerated Reader As with anything, performance improves with practice. Your child will be expected to read daily for 15 to 20 minutes and encouraged to take 1-2 AR quizzes a week (Taking quizzes are optional). Create a culture of reading in your household by providing a space where your child can read without distractions.
