INTRODUCTION
MyPSA is the abbreviation for the Malaysian Pharmacy Students' Association. It is a
national level organization which reconsolidates various local pharmacy students' society
under one organization. Being a student-oriented, non-political association, we are
concerned entirely with pharmacy education and pharmacy profession, directly and
indirectly.
A variety of programs and conferences have been planned and implemented in order
to strengthen the pharmacy education, pharmacy profession in Malaysia, and not forgetting
the relationship between Pharmacy students in Malaysia.
Together, we are bound by this motto:
"UNITED TOWARDS PHARMACEUTICAL EXCELLENCE"
LOGO
"MyPSA" is the abbreviation for Malaysian Pharmacy Students Association.
The "mortar and pestle" symbol represents the field of pharmacy.
The "red spot" symbolizes our mission and goals are the centre of attention.
The colours "red, blue, yellow and white" is an embodiment of our love towards Malaysia.

CONCEPT
MyPSA is a national pharmacy student association for that brings together all form of
force, collaboration and idea to be executed by whole committee of pharmacy students in
Malaysia.
VISION & MISSION
Our vision is to offer future PHARMACIST a comprehensive introduction to global
health issues. Through our programmes and opportunities, we develop culturally sensitive
pharmacy students of HEALTH especially drugs information, intent on influencing the
transnational inequalities.
"PHARMACIST PROFESSION, OUR PASSION"
To provide an opportunity and forum to discuss any concern and problems
experienced by pharmacy students with the pharmacy community.
To reinforce the role, communication and position of pharmacy students in Malaysia.
To strengthen the relationship between pharmacy students and the pharmacy
community (e.g. MPS, pharmacy industry, and public sector of pharmacy).
To reorganize and realign the pharmacy students activities in Malaysia so that the
input obtained by students and the output gained by the community is consistent to
retain the membership of pharmacy students.
To globalize activities done by pharmacy students of Malaysia.
To promote participation of representatives from pharmacy students in MPS
meetings.
To retain the membership of pharmacy students gradually in the Malaysian
Pharmaceutical Society (MPS).
To simplify the implementation process of activities in a more systematic way at
international level.

Starting there, MyPSA Executive Committee has changed for the term 2008/2010
and 2010/2011. The election will take place during National Gathering of Pharmacy Students
(NoGAPS) each year. Starting 2011, the MyPSA Executive Committee election will take place
annually instead of biennially.

AFFILIATIONS
1) Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS)
Student Chapter
MyPSA have been recognised by MPS as the Student Chapter, replacing the
old structure of Student Chapter (STACH). The recognition was given in 2011 after
the council meeting of MPS. With the recognition, MPS President was made the
patron of MyPSA and one of MPS Council Member is appointed as the Advisor for
MyPSA Executive Committee.
The current MPS President Dato’ Nancy Ho is MyPSA Patron and Assoc. Prof.
Dr. Mohamed Azmi Ahmad Hassali, one of MPS Council Member is appointed as
MyPSA Advisor.
2) International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF)
Full Member
Full Membership (FM) of IPSF is granted to associations that represent
pharmacy students. These associations can be faculty based, regional, or national
which MyPSA represent Malaysian students at the national level. FMs are entitled to
all privileges of membership in IPSF and voting rights at the General Assembly.
MyPSA obtained its FM status on the recent 57th IPSF General Assembly held in Hat
Yai, Thailand on 3-13 August 2011.
Previously, MyPSA is a Member-in-Association (MiA) of IPSF starting 2007
until 2010.

ACHIEVEMENTS & PAST PROJECTS
USM with the encouragements from Munis and also some support from MyPSA then
decided to bid to become host of APPS 2009.
In 2009, MyPSA started IPSF Student Exchange Programme (SEP) accepting students
to Malaysia and sending our own students out. From 2009-2010, MyPSA have sent
17 Malaysian students abroad and hosted 11 international students from USA, UK,
Turkey, Hungary, Indonesia, Croatia, Czech Republic and many others.
Actively involves in IPSF and decided to run for Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO).

MyPSA organised MyPSA Health Marathon 2009 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor with the
theme ‘Together We Run and Stay Healthy’.
During the last Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS) 2011, MyPSA and
Ikatan Senat Mahasiswa Farmasi Indonesia (ISMAFARSI) have sit down together
during a forum on pharmacy education entitled ‘Pharmacy For Future’ at Sekolah
Tinggi Kesihatan (STiKes) Bakti Tunas Husada (BTH), Tasikmalaya, Wast Java. The
forum is held on 1st July 2011.

With increasing awareness among students about MyPSA and the organisation
become more stable and recognised, MyPSA Executive Committees and local universities
have planned a few projects to be done within this year.
