hard back at school. However, another festival, Easter, is just around the corner.
Therefore, to honour these two great festivals, the themes of this newsletter

1) The loud noise scared Nian even more and he ran even faster.
2) From that day, everyone wore red clothes and let of firecrackers to
scare away Nian at the end of winter each year.
3) The boy lived at the top of a hill and one day he walked out of his
house carrying his mother’s cooking pot. He came face to face with Nian.
4) Once upon a time, a monster called Nian would visit a village in China at
the end of winter to look for people to eat.
5) The boy was also scared and dropped the pot. It fell with a bang and
rolled down the hill making a terrible noise as it hit the stones.
6) The boy was wearing red clothes and when Nian saw the bright red
colour, he was scared and ran away down the hill.
7) One day, a boy luckily discovered Nian’s secret.
