Employers
• Arrange a ‘Made by apprentices’ open day at your premises
• Include opportunities to talk to current and former apprentices, workplace tours and see first hand the contribution made by apprentices.
• Invite teachers and Year 9–11 pupils to job shadow apprentices in the workplace.
Colleges & training providers
• Organise taster sessions where local pupils can learn about a specific industry sector.
• Run your own WorldSkills UK Have a Go events to encourage potential apprentices to try a new skill.
• Extend the ‘Have a Go’ principle to teachers and encourage them to do a day as an apprentice.
Partners
• Organise a schools programme to discuss a particular industry or issue
• Attend open days organised by employers, colleges and training providers
• Help share our ‘Sector in the Spotlight’ films’ through your social media and schools channels.
