The Customer Experience IS the MarketingSteve Miller, Founder, The Adventure LLC
It’s time to think about what makes your company unique, and in today’s technology driven world, product quality and customer
service no longer act as the only differentiators. Consumers are not consumers until they buy something, and companies are recognizing the need to do more to encourage that purchase. Companies must think outside the box and wrap products and services that can’t be copied with brand-enhancing experiences that stimulate the con-sumer to buy. Technology has made everything commoditized, and if something can be copied, it will be - so the need to create these compelling and remarkable experiences will only continue to grow.

He is also responsible for developing part of SIG’s professional services platform.
Marcus BuckinghamBest Selling Author, Expert on Outstanding Leadership and Management Practices
In a world in which efficiency and competency rule the workplace, where do personal strengths fit in? Marcus Buck-ingham has dedicated his career to addressing this complex issue. Using two decades of experience as a senior researcher at Gallup Organization, he has challenged preconceptions about achievement to get to the core of what drives success. The treatment of strengths in the workplace is revealed in his best-selling books: First, Break All the Rules; Now, Discover Your Strengths; The One Thing You Need to Know; Go Put Your Strengths To Work; and The Truth About You.
Buckingham’s work provides insights into maximizing strengths, understanding differences between leadership and management, and fulfilling the quest for long-lasting personal satisfaction in work and in life. To move companies toward greater success and productivity is to create a workplace in which employees spend more than 75% of each day on the job using their strongest skills and engaged in their favorite tasks. Companies that focus on cultivating employees’ strengths rather than simply improving their weaknesses will dramati-cally increase efficiency while allowing for maximum personal growth. Buckingham touts this strengths revolution as the key to finding the most effective route to personal achieve-ment and the missing link to the efficiency, competence and high performance for which companies constantly strive. He challenges conventional wisdom and shows the correlation between engaged employees and business fundamentals such as turnover rates, customer satisfaction, profits, and productivity.

Tony HsiehCEO & Founder, Zappos.com
In 1999, at the age of 24, Tony sold LinkExchange, the com-pany he co-founded, to Microsoft for $265 million. He then joined Zappos.com, the online shoe sales company, as an advisor and investor, and eventually become CEO, where he helped the company grow from $1.6 million to over $1 billion in gross merchandise sales annually, while simultaneously making Fortune magazine’s annual Best Companies to Work for List. In 2009 Zappos.com, Inc. was acquired by Amazon.com

for $1.2 billion. Both companies share a passion for customer service and the decision was clear to work together.
Tony is a wildly successful business innovator, and has achieved phenomenal company growth through revolution-ary approaches to marketing, human resources and customer service. Zappos.com has 350 associates on its Customer Loyalty Team, the nerve center of Zappos. Tony has earned a zealous following by imposing an ethos of live human connec-tion on the chilly, anonymous bazaar of the Internet. His first book, Delivering Happiness was just released. Tony has a BA in computer science from Harvard University and was a software engineer at Oracle. Zappos comes from the Spanish word for shoe: Zapata, a word that has also turned out fortuitously evocative of the way goods are “zapped” to customers.

NATIONAL CONFECTIONERS ASSOCIATION ANTITRUST COMPLIANCE POLICY
It is the policy and practice of the National Confectioners Associa-tion (NCA) to conduct all of its meetings and activities in strict compliance with applicable federal and state laws. Because NCA members are often competitors, it is particularly important to comply fully with national and state antitrust laws. Antitrust laws / seek to preserve and promote competition and to deter anticompetitive conduct. NCA is committed both to strict compliance with the antitrust laws and to the avoidance of any appearance of improper or anticom-petitive conduct. All meetings of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, as well as committee meetings that might give rise to competitive concerns will be monitored by trained NCA staff or counsel. To avoid subject matter or discussions which might be construed as anticompetitive, meeting agendas and minutes will be reviewed by counsel. The Association has re-tained special counsel to assist in addressing antitrust questions, if any, which may arise.
Violations of the antitrust laws can result in serious penalties for both companies and individuals. These penalties include treble damage awards, fines, and injunctions. Individuals may be subject to criminal prosecution. It is therefore incumbent upon ev-eryone participating in NCA activities to avoid subject areas and discussions which might be construed as anticompetitive.
Individuals who participate in NCA activities should read and abide by the following rules:
1. There should be no discussion of prices, one’s own or those of a competitor, or of any factors which might affect prices such as discounts or margins.
2. There should be no discussions regarding allocations of ter-ritories, markets or customers.
3. The Association will not develop standards or practices which restrict the business of any firm or individual.
4. If any subject with any anticompetitive implication or appear-ance is raised at any NCA meeting, persons attending the meet-ing should object immediately to an NCA staff person and request that the subject be dropped.
5. No NCA sponsored meeting will begin until its agenda has been reviewed by trained NCA staff or by counsel.
6. Minutes of each NCA meeting and committee meeting shall be reviewed and approved by trained NCA staff or by counsel.
7. Speakers at NCA meetings shall comply with these guidelines. Where a speaker who is a member of NCA or affiliated with a member of NCA intends to address a topic dealing with eco-nomics, business practices, or product or service standards, an outline or prepared text of the speaker’s presentation shall be reviewed by trained NCA staff or counsel in advance of the meet-ing.

8. NCA’s statistical data collection and reporting programs will relate only to past transactions, and data will be reported in an aggregate form that does not permit identification of individual transactions or reporting companies. Membership participation in such programs is always voluntary.
9. Any research or standard setting activities of NCA will be con-ducted only with monitoring by legal counsel and with full opportu-nity for participation by both members and non-members of NCA.
A fundamental purpose of NCA’s schools, seminars, and conferenc-es is to improve competition and to facilitate competitive marketing. Adherence to these guidelines will facilitate that purpose.
