Dual Enrollment Program Logistics
- Dual enrollment students are invited to attend freshmen orientation in August.
- Dual enrollment classes start on Monday, September 7th ◦ Students report to their assigned middle schools prior to the dual
enrollment program starting. - First day of the program: All dual enrollment students report to
the BLUE cafeteria by 7:28 (there will be signs) and remain there for an assembly
- Students receive their schedules on the first day of classes
- Students from all three middle schools are mixed together in classes
Transportation
If you live 2 miles or more from New Bedford High School, your student qualifies for busing to the program.
Dual enrollment students take the bus with high school students.
When classes finish, students are picked up at the BLUE House entrance and bused back to their school. Students from Keith Middle School walk back over to school with a staff member from Keith.
Dual Enrollment Attendance Policy
- 3 or more unexcused absences will result in you possibly being removed from the program
- 10 or more unexcused tardies will result in you possibly being removed from the program
- Engaging in conduct that violates the students handbook will result in you possibly being removed from the program
o 100 slots for the 2021-2022 school year
o Only dual enrollment students are eligible to apply if attending a NBPS middle school
o Pathway to the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma

- All applications are due on May 1, 2020
- Students will be notified of their acceptance by May 25, 2020
- Applications are submitted to the middle school guidance counselor
- Acceptances are based on a rubric scoring
- 150 total seats in the program
- Application can be found on the New Bedford High School website
- No essay is required
