Next Steps for Admitted Students
CONFIRM YOUR NCCU ENROLLMENT
Students admitted for Fall 2020 as undergraduate frst-year or transfer students
are required to confrm their decision to attend North Carolina Central University by
paying a Non-Refundable fee. To let us know you plan to attend, follow these steps:

Visit myeol.nccu.edu and enter your Banner ID (820#) number, provided on
your Eagle Promise Portal;
Enter your initial Banner PIN as your birthdate (MMDDYY);
Click “Verify My Info”;
Submit Immunization Records: students taking four or more on campus credit
hours must submit proof of immunizations by the frst day of class. Click link
below to upload immunization records nccu.medicatconnect.com. Failure to
do so will result in the student being dropped from all classes;
5 Click “Enroll Now” to register for SOAR—button located in the personal assistant
Once you select a date and complete the enrollment deposit, you have offcially
accepted the offer of admission to North Carolina Central University!

APPLY FOR HOUSING Beginning January 15, 2020, complete your Housing Application and pay your $150
Non-Refundable housing administrative fee to reserve your room on campus. The
University requires students with less than 60 credits to live on campus. Therefore,
we encourage you to apply for housing as soon as possible to increase your chances
of securing your preferred hall!
Visit the Residential Life website for information regarding the housing process and
residence halls.

APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID Make sure you’ve completed the 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) beginning October 1st. Immediately respond to request
from Scholarships & Student Aid for documents such as 2018 Federal Tax
Return or verifcation worksheets. Please list NCCU’s school code: 002950.

VISIT NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL UNIVERSITY NCCU encourages interested students/families and groups to come explore our
campus to gain insight on what our campus can offer. We have a specifc tour
schedule for each tour type. We encourage you to schedule your tour 2-weeks
in advance to increase your chances of securing the date you need.
Please note that tours are not offered on recognized holidays, black-out dates, offcial university breaks, or weekends (Saturday/Sunday).

Financial Planning
North Carolina Residency To be eligible to pay resident tuition, you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
(green card holder) and have resided in North Carolina continuously for at least one
calendar year before the frst day of your frst semester of enrollment. You must also be
able to demonstrate that your primary purpose for being in North Carolina is something
other than school attendance.
Student Accounting The estimated tuition fees listed below cover one academic year (two semesters) of enrollment.
The fgures below are tuition amounts from 2019-2020 academic year; actual tuition for

Financial Aid At North Carolina Central University, the majority of undergraduates receive some form
of fnancial aid, such as loans, grants, or work study funds. For detailed information,

Complete the FAFSA for 2020-2021 Financial Aid is available from the Offce of Scholarships and Student Aid in the form of grants,
loans, scholarships, or work study. To apply for fnancial aid, complete a Free Application for

Career Services and Outreach (CSO) CSO offers a variety of programs and
resources to provide lifetime tools for career
development, job search training, experiential
education, employment and networking
opportunities. Please visit our website at

Housing North Carolina Central University has 12 residence
halls. The University requires freshmen to live
in a University operated residence hall. This
requirement is a step in the University’s efforts to
provide new students with an environment that
prepares them for academic success. National
research and data has shown that students who
live on campus have higher GPAs, and utilize
more resources on campus, such as tutoring,
computer labs, libraries and engagement

Immunization Records and Health Insurance Proof of immunizations and dates must be
entered and uploaded by the frst day of
class. Failure to do so will result in the
student being dropped from classes.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Student Insurance plan
or waive the Student Insurance plan should
complete this by the frst day of class as well.

Second-Degree & Transfer Students Final acceptance to NCCU is contingent upon
satisfactory completion of all work at your prior
or current institution. Submit your transcript
immediately upon completion of your last
semester of enrollment. Failure to do so may
delay your registration and enrollment.

University College The University College promotes student learning
and development by providing coordinated and
centralized academic resources and support
services. These services are aimed to help frst
and second year students defne their educational
and career goals. Relationships developed
through proactive advising, educational
planning, academic support and enrichment,
and continuous development to ensure students
are retained and equipped to persist toward
graduation. Staffed with 16 professional academic
advisors, our services extend beyond traditional
sessions to include student programming to
promote and develop intentional relationships.
