Newport / Irvine Coast Planned Community

Newport Coast is a large, “high-end” residential

development located on the coastal hills overlooking

the Pacific Ocean. Master planned in the 1980’s, the

overall plan included roadways, hotels, residential

communities, a community park and a number of

smaller neighborhood parks, and open space areas.

The landscape is envisioned to be evocative of the

surrounding natural landscape and to maximize

views. Each community is designed to fit in with the

overall coastal landscape concept, but will retain its

own unique character. Because of the location of the

project, the plan was processed through the Coastal

Commission as well as the approvals process of Orange

County.
