Caring, Confident and Respectful Learners
To Parents, Carers and Community
Members,
The students and staff have been busily working
away at the end of year presentation. The evening
is shaping up to be an exciting affair, with a
variety of plays, skits and performances. Students
should be practicing lines from their scripts at
home.
The High School students harvested lettuce and
silver beet and sent home
large bundles last week. The
Farm is really starting to go
ahead with all students
actively involved in
maintaining their plots.
Thanks to Mark Huntly for his work over at the
farm installing some new poly pipe and taps.
More progress has been made in the library with
new computer shelving/desk area going in during
the past week. It looks more user friendly. Four
new computers have been installed.
A new computer desk has been installed in the
staff room as well.

OPINIONS FROM THE YEAR 9 ENGLISH CLASS
MY OPINION ON MY FAVOURITE SPORT.
90% of the world’s population plays sports. Some people say that they don’t like to play due
to the fact that they’re not talented or being unfit .Sports is like a bridge to unite countries
together to compete. It’s also a way people can make new friends from other countries and
to also learn their tactics. There are more than 100 sports in the world my top 3 are basket-
ball, volleyball and soccer.
First and foremost I would like to say that basketball is the best sport in the world. Basketball
is not about dribbling the ball everywhere it’s also about practise, the more you practice the
better you will become. Basketball also consists of maths and hand -eye coordination; if you
angle yourself in the right position and if you flick your hand at the right moment you will get
the ball in the basket. In basketball terms you’ll get a swish. Basketball is also about strategy a
basketball coach will set a play for players to play without a play players will be scattered.
Sport is Great!
WHY GAMING IS MY FAVOURITE SPORT
My favourite sport is gaming because it helps with developing all your skills such as strategies. You can make money while having fun and enjoying yourself. The first pc was created in 1975 by Ed Roberts who sold them for $750 which is pretty good compared to prices today. It had little games with bad graphics. Today you can play on many different consoles like pc, Xbox, ps4, phone, iPad and Nintendo. Gaming also gives you an opportunity to meet, play and talk to new people when playing online. You can play on teams with friends, on your own or against people from different countries. While gaming you learn how to problem solve, use hand and eye coordination skills, creativity and imagination. This all happens while you have fun with your friends. A console called the wii will help with your fitness while you’re enjoying yourself. You can play sports or build skills.
Professional gamers earn a lot of money playing video games. I want to be a gamer.

It’s Wombat time!
“Christmas Wombat’ written by Jackie French &Bruce Whatley. It’s
Christmas! And it’s Christmas for Mothball the Wombat too. She eats, she
sleeps, she scratches, but on Christmas Eve…
Created by writer Jackie French and illustrator Bruce Whatley, Christmas
Wombat is another irresistible picture book by this extraordinary award-
winning pair.
“A Very Wombat Christmas” illustrated by Lachlan Creagh. The night before
Christmas, and deep in his burrow, Wombat is busy getting ready for
tomorrow—but has he remembered everyone’s present. Celebrate the joy of
giving with this delightful little wombat!

COMMUNITY ITEMS ITEMS FOR PUBLICATION
Items for publication in the school newsletter need to be submitted to the school (via email or in person) by 4pm Thursday, prior to publication. This will ensure items are included in the next newsletter. Phone - 02 6995 1108 Email - [email protected]
Due to large numbers of community advertisements coming into the school to be added to the newsletter, the cost is escalating. We would like to continue to produce large and colourful copies but to make this possible we will need to charge a fee for each advertisement. $5.00 for a one off or $20 for a month.
$20 a month or $5 per ad as a one off.
Community Notices are accepted in good faith and at the discretion of the Principal.
