Sunday Night Adult Bible Study Starting
August 7 from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
In a world full of chaos and anger, something more is needed! Let's learn together about
the great gift of God's Grace in a time when it is most needed. Starting August 7 we will
be spending 8 weeks looking at how grace impacts us personally and also how we can
give grace to as others well. This study is based on the best-selling book by Max Lucado
called "Grace." Our first class will be an introduction class. We will order participant
guides after the first class. This class is for all, no matter where you are in your relationship with Christ. I know we will all be
able to grow and learn from one another. I hope you all will join me for this study on grace. If you want to sign up for the
class or have any additional questions, please call or email the church office. In His Grace,
Rev Chris Pavlovsky

family centered worship experience.
Children are invited to bring their

and support for the 2016-2017 school year. Everyone of all ages
is invited to attend. If you have any questions, please contact
Beth Cochran at [email protected].
A Word From Warren
Boldly Go...into the Presence of God
The saddest people are those who have fear in their
hearts—not a healthy fear or respect of God, but a fear
of life and what it will bring to them. I read this story
recently and thought it had a great message for us all:
A little girl went to her grandmother’s farm
where they packed a lunch, saddled the horse and rode
off in search of a place for a picnic. They ate on the
edge of a stream, waded up to their knees and had one
fine day together. That night after dinner and a bath, the
grandmother read from the Bible before putting the girl
to bed. In the night, a storm with thunder, lightning and
heavy rain battered the house, scaring the little girl who
called out for her grandmother. Knowing there would
be no rest for the weary, the grandmother let the girl get
in her bed and turned out the lights. In the dark, the
grandmother heard a small voice say, “Nana, I can’t
see, is your face turned toward me?”
There are so many people out there who are afraid and
wonder if anyone hears their cries or if anyone is turned
toward them. They have no idea where God is in their
lives and see no evidence of His great love. I am here
today proclaiming that God is nearer than any of us can
imagine. His face is turned toward us and his ears are
attentive to our prayers. (1Peter 3:12) When we take our
knowledge of His presence, and His great love to others
by giving our testimony and show His love through our
actions, we help them to know that His face is turned
toward each of us. Can we truly say to Him, “Here am I.
Send me.”? (Isaiah 6:8)
Sharing His Love,
Warren

VISION LUNCHEON FOR THE WHOLE CHURCH
Over the past several months, our Vision Committee
has been meeting and discussing the Vision and
Mission of our Church. We are excited about what
God is doing and the future of our church. The
Committee would like to share our vision and mis-
sion and also want to get ideas from you. As God’s
children, we are asking for your prayers and ideas as
He continues to lead our church into the future. We
are not asking for any money. On August 28, we will
have a covered dish luncheon in the FLC after the 11
o’clock service. Please bring a dish to share and be a
part of this gathering to hear about our Vision and
Mission for Dallas First.
God Bless you all,
Warren
